    Hi Bubblez

I haven't had this done but I do know a girl who did. Personally I think she looked a lot better before she had it done because afterwards her lids became kinda strange looking..not sure how to describe it but her lids were plump & very unatural. You can also see a deep line where the fold is. I also have a friend who is considering it but I keep telling her not to because she looks great the way she is. I think all girls with single lids look beautiful.

I agree with BluberriMuffin. I had a student who had it done, and I thought it looked unnatural. If you observe the Asian models on the international modelling scene, you'll see that many of them have single eyelids! It's what sets them apart from non-Asian models, that element of "exoticism". IMO, you should learn to love your single eyelids and to show them off to their best advantage

Thanks for the reply.. I have pondered over whether to have it done or not for a very long time.. more than 5 years.. before deciding to go for it..

    Default Double Eyelid

    Hi everyone

I had single eyelid and always wanted to have double eyelid but don't have the courage to go for surgery. And there's also another problem which is $$$. I had tried using 'stickers' but even with eye makeup, the 'stickers' still can't be covered up. So has anyone went for double eyelid surgery or has any info on this? Any side effects?

Dug this post up so I could share some tips with girls who have got single eyelids or only one side with single and the other is double.

I am the latter. Single on right, double on left. I started using this eyelid glue I bought from Basic Beauty since I think 2 or 3 years ago. When I first used it I wasn't adapting quite well because it felt weird but after a week or so it was quite ok.

I used it almost everyday for about 1yr and now I have permanent double eyelid. I wanted to do a surgery in about April last yr and went to look for Dr. Martin Huang. He told me to stop using it one month before the surgery because it would harden the skin there and the surgery would not be very accurate or something. (Can't remember the exact words)

I decided not to do the surgery until I was really ready and I continued using because I felt weird without my double eyelid. Lol.

In May last yr, I suddenly had double eyelid on my right eye and I was so happy I saved the 3k. (Dr. Huang charges a hefty amount)

Nowadays only when I rub my eye continuously or when I didn't sleep much the previous day my double eyelid disappears so I use the glue only like once a month when it disappears and it'll last for as long again.

Save me the pain and $$. One bottle of glue lasted me for about half a year or more and it only costs $12? I think it's worth the trouble.

Sounds amazing... Evey, how does the glue work? Is it difficult to apply?

Evey, u must be referring to the pink bottle - Eye Talk right?

I have that too, but it seems to last for only one hr or so before my right eye becomes single-lidded again. Furthermore, the texture and color on the eyelid is different after applying, hence it is rather obvious and unnatural. Mayb I dunno the right way to apply...

    Can anyone enlighten me?

I personally prefer using double eyelid tape.
the pre cut ones are easier to use..
however if the size and shapes do not match, then can get the 3M tape and cut it accordingly.
it is easier than using glue...

Hellogirl: I personally find it pretty easy to apply. First few tries would be quite tough but after a few practice i could do it. I just kept trying out.

Pearl-y Princess: Yup. I'm using that but I used to use another one before they sold this. I think they no longer carry that brand. Whenever I use the glue it lasts me the whole day until I rub it off. -shrugs-

I don't know how I can explain but I'll try my best to..

You don't have to use a thick layer of glue. Just a little bit spread across the eyelid and use the stick provided to you. Slide it from inner eyelid to the end of your eye. Try to look upwards or not blink until it's dry.

It should stick and look natural by then, else redo until you find a perfect way for you to apply it.

If you want to use it with makeup, do everything as per normal, THEN apply the glue. Otherwise it'll look very un natural.

Tape is also an easy way but it's very visible to me and i'm so lazy to cut it to suit my eyelids. So I chose glue. Know of a few people who attained double eyelids through both ways, only if used religiously.

    Hi Bubblez,

You hv to ask yourself why you want to go for double eyelid surgery. Is it because you want to make yourself prettier or because of your single eyelid makes you feel inferior, low esteem....
If you think that by having double eyelid, it will increase your self esteem, then I think its alright to go ahead. Of course it will be good if you can accept the way you are but not everyone can do it.

But, there is a limit to plastic surgery too. Personally I'm kind of against going for surgery like breast enlargement ,liposuction....

    Just my opinion!

Hi.... may i know why you are against going for breast enlargement? Bcoz i ever thought of doing but many advice me not. My mum has done it & she tell me to go do it but i am still considering.

About double-eyelid i had a ex-classmate who when to do it & her lids became kinda strange looking her lids were plump & very unatural like what BlubberiMuffin has posted. So my advice is better not go do.

i think its a known fact that woman is going to have problems when they do breast implants right? the ingredients placed inside the body might pose a risk to the health etc.
