i have seen my friend having done the double eye lid surgery it's kind of unnatural it's my own personal feeling or illusion that the line is always there no matter you blink your eyes a not itz like a permanent line
for those who still feel that there is a need to correct some features may be you can try woffle wo he is a plastic surgeon from camden hospital it's just behind tanglin mall you can always see him on the tv he is quite reputable and experienced but kind of pricey
Just to share what i've seen.
Sometime last year, i accompanied my father in law, together with my mom in law to remove fil's eye bags. They got too bulgy with water (i believe).
At the clinic, there was this lady around early 30 waiting to do double eyelid surgery. We asked her why and she spouted some very illogical answer, Anyway, the before and after her was so diff!
By the time she came out, she had her double eye lid all right but it looked so so unnatural. Almost ugly i would say. She was cursing and swearing as well. Saying her eyes were so swollen, puffy and ugly that she'll be off to buy a pair of shades immediately (it was already 7pm then). Of course, we didn't say anything much, just nodding over heads up and down and smiled.
In her own words, she told us she shouldn't have done it.

In the past, I wanted to do double eye-lid surgery too. But actually, single can be very nice and different.
There's got to be good surgeons out there but just to be very careful and must really bear the consequences of the results.
i have not done it before but during my ROM, the makeup artiste taped double eyelid for me and I find that I look very funny. Perhaps I'm used to my single eyelids but my plump eyelids when taped to become double looks abite fake......
cherie, but doesn't it take a few days for all the swelling/pain to go away?
I told her that too but it seems like she wasnt so optimistic about it![]()
i think double eye lid will look fake, it will only start to look natural after 6 months of the operation. hehe. maybe can search site for more photos.
One of my best friends did it. To be honest, we all thought it was a terrible mistake when we saw her a few months after the surgery. It was most unnatural. She felt it too. But after several years, it is beginning to look nice. Her eyes had gone twice as big! But there will always be a very obvious line cut across your upper lids. Especially when you close your eyes. People will know it is fake.
what's wrong with fakery?
m/u is also fake. hairspray and gels and stuff also fake. genetic snobbery? well 99% of our fave stars have all gone under the knife.
i think so long as it makes the person feel good, why not?
just don't go overboard like dawn yeo (her nose is so michael jackson) can already. i do like her eyes though

One of my acquaintances recently went for double eyelid surgery. It's pretty obvious because her eyes are much bigger and prettier now. I feel the eyelid surgery has indeed made her look even prettier than before.
Just wondering - for those cotters whose friends have gone for such surgery, do these friends tell people about their surgery? Or do they deny it even when you ask if they've had work done?
I'm tempted to ask this acquaintance where she had her work done, but it's a rather sensitive issue and I'm afraid I might offend her.
i just get to know how to differentiate between one who do it and one who dont.
when the person slowly open up the eyes, u can see it suddenly open up. for those born with double eyelids, its like a 'curtain' movement. slowly skin move up.........
and seem that must go for ops again. not a one time event. saw it from a taiwan show.
i guess u can open up the topics by saying u want to go for a op. see if she knows of anyone to recommend? heh
yes double eyelid surgery is not permanent. as one grows older the skin will lose elasticity and start to sag and the lid may collapse onto itself so patients have to go back to cut the line again. and some people have more 'stubborn eyelids' that revert back to single easily
one of my friend knows someone who went to woffles wu and her crease kept disappearing. that person went back thrice and woffles charged her $$ every single time!
anyway there's no rule that says double eyelids = beautiful. i am born with double eyelids but the crease on the left side is naturally higher than than on the right. geez
i hate my eyes....one side is hidden eyelid...the other side single...This SUCks
The swelling after double eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) will lasts for about a month to six weeks. There may be also some bruising initially.
If you want more natural looking lids, let the surgeon know to create the height of the lid crease according to your race. Caucasians and Indians have higher lid creases which will look unnatural on Chinese.
If you want to be safe, look for an oculoplastic surgeon (a eye doctor that does plastic surgery). A plastic surgeon should also be fine but check with friends/ collegues that have gone for the procedure.
Just my opinion.
Yeah...I agree. We do what we feel will make us look & feel good. Btw, sorry...to those who've done it...when I say it can look fake...I am not implying it's a bag thing. Guess it's easy for those with double eyelids to criticise those who are contemplating the surgery. MU is so much easier when U have deep set eyes. Moreover, nowadays, every gal is putting on some form of 'disguise' isn't it? Be it contact lens, drawn-on eyebrows, MU, hair colour, etc. Must be more receptive. But I guess we must just remember not to go overboard. Plus be prepared that things won't come out the way U want it to be. My fren was very depressed after her surgery. Coz it look weird & everyone at her work place kept talking about her. I felt sad for her too. But now I feel she looks great (maybe not 100% naural still)...a far improvement from last time.Originally Posted by loves
