Bringing this topic up again to get opinions.

I've been to Dr. Martin Huang for consultation, it was expensive. Consulted about double eyelid surgery. I do have double eyelid only on one side of my eye, the other is hidden and appears to look like a single eyelid. I use glue to get the double eyelid effect whenever i leave the house. It works well, even Dr. Martin Huang feels that i've made it look natural.

However, it's quite tiring to keep doing so and my mum is the one who encourages me to do the eyelid procedure with Dr. Huang. I personally feel that he is too expensive for a double eyelid surgery. But paying for security would be my ultimate choice since it'll be a surgery on the FACE.

I know about eyelid surgery when i was younger and there are people around me who have done the surgery and got away with it looking natural.

Should i just go for the surgery since it's holidays for me till july? Or forgo this option. I'm still contemplating. Please advise.

I think you should go for it, we only live once, we live for ourselves..for others to a certain extent...and isn't it a chore to just do that everyday? But think you should get a second opinion and also consult some others equally qualified and reasonable charges surgeons. When plastic surgery was such a taboo...even to a certain extent in today's standards..simply because it's associated with "fake", "unnatural"....but isn't colouring of hair, make-up, and other forms of enhancing oneself "fake" too, since we aren't born with that? And the bottom line is to look better, to have a more confident self, perhaps, or serves as a respect to others since you care about how you look. It's more a hush hush thingy simply because it's not as common as the former, that's all. And the reality is be it at work, pageants, or when you first meet a sales assistant, or something, who doesn't like to look at pretty things? I may not be right, but just something I thought and admit.

    Yes I agree propagandaz.

I must say it is a sel esteem thing. I do not have enough confidence in my appearance in terms of body contour. My mum encourages me to go for surgery if i want to.

I just need someone to tell me such encouraging words to make me go for it. I'm very insecure with how i appear physically so that's a great deal to me. Thanks!

How much will be your damages? i advise u to go early for the surgery dates as it needs time to recover although the doc maybe say need one month to recover it might take longer as everyone of us varies on the speed of recovery!!

Oh remember to get a few pairs of colour sunglasses it will be useful after the surgery!!

Well, it cost about 3k for the eyelid surgery. Paid 100+ for the consultation.

So xanthe, you agree that i should go for it too right?

i mean why not since money is not an issue now and will enhance your beauty and like what propagandaz say "we only live once, we live for ourselves" you should go ahead already and since Dr martin Huang is a good doc risks will go to the minimal. However after the surgery have to take very good care i mean extra precautions!!

The prices he quoted you is for the traditional technique (cutting) or suture technique (sewing)? And $3000+ is for 1 eyelid?

I agreed nthe price is abit steep...personally I have yet to try any procedures in singapore, did my surgeries in Japan. They charge $5000 for a nose job (around 3 years ago) so should be more expensive or cheaper now since its becoming so common.

Haha but i did not do my nose..regretting now though..i have no qualms about surgey to improve your looks and in turn you self confidence...but self confidence is also influenced by your personality IMO. =)

    Sorry to butt in suddenly!

Haha i did alot...spent tens of thousands... did 2 surgery and 2 laser treatments. Cant reme how much was the surgery, 1 laser treatment cost Sing $5 K. The hospital bills for foreigners are horrendous...like 300 per night.

I have a birthmark on right side of my face... =) Singapore docs do not have confidence to do for me, thats why went Japan. Even my Spore doctors said they did a great job. (at a price of course).
