I am not recovering fast enough for my liking, haha!
I went to work on the 4th day. I am indeed lucky that baby doll tops and dresses are still quite fashionable, which have helped to hide the bulge. Sitting and getting up from the office chair is fine. It occasionally hurts, but the pain is bearable. I think it is because the office chair is of a good height. Climbing in and out of cabs is another matter. It is still very painful. The good thing is, buses are now my preferred mode of transport, if I'm not in a rush.
Day 7
Not much different from Day 6. Still struggling with swelling, which has migrated southwards. In addition to a swollen lower tummy and er, pubes, my thighs are really chunky like tree trunks. My calves and ankles are thicker too.
The bruising is still there. The vasered areas are still tender to touch. I can only soap there very gently when I shower. My stomach's an ugly mustard yellow. There are big, angry, red patches on my hips, pubes and butt.
But it's been one full week and I've completed my course of antibiotics! I take note of little milestones like these to keep my morale up.
Hi, girls.
have you heard of gastric balloon for weight lost.
it is very effective for me. i have gone throught that. i have lost almost 10Kg in coming to 3 months. you know why? because i have a 500mls water balloon inside my stomach. every time, i just eat a little bit i feel full already. thank to my doc.![]()

this is much more cheaper than liposuction. if i go for liposuction, it will cost at least $10,000 for a overall fat girl like me.

Yeah, he did.
Day 7 and 8
I am retaining water like crazy. Plus the thick foam I have to wear, I feel shapeless and unattractive. It's dragging my mood down. I look ugly, ugly, ugly.
Perhaps it was due to what happened at the clinic yesterday, when I did ultrasound. Theoretically, I should be able to switch to a stage 2 garment by the end of next week. But my doctor's not around, so I can't get him to 'prescribe' the stage 2 garment for me. He'll only be back on week 4, which means I have to put up with 3 more weeks of ugliness. I asked the clinic assistant whether I could just purchase the stage 2 garment because I am sick of looking like a water barrel, she said viciously and happily, "too bad for you".![]()
did u take the anti swelling pills.. get it from the clinic. my swelling usually goes down by the time i remove my stitches.
Yep, I was given pills to alleviate the water retention. But they give me really bad headaches, so I can't take them.
Day 9
I still look pale and bloodless. Although there's no more pain when I move around, it seems like I have not regained my strength. I did my ironing today and felt exhausted by the time I finished ironing my 2nd dress. Had to take little breaks now and then.
The ugly mustard yellow bruising has disappeared from my stomach. But I still have a few reddish black patches. Looking forward to seeing them disappear!
Hi miuccia,
My job requires me to put on uniform. I was wondering if the foam, garment and swelling is really very bad that i will not be able to put on my uniform for work... I am really keen in doing lipselection but i am worried about not being able to fit in my uniform after that...
Hi sweetz, what does your uniform look like? I am assuming that you intend to do liposelection on your abdomen? if it's just swelling and the garment, I don't think you'll have problems wearing your uniform. BUT if your doctor requires you to wear the foam as well, I am quite certain that you will not be able to fit into your uniform... unless your uniform is a baby doll dress.
One way out is to take 2 weeks off work, when you need to wear the foam 24/7. After you go back to work, change into a stage 2 garment and wear the foam at night only.
Day 10
Thank goodness the pain is completely gone. Because I seem to have caught a cold. Previously, a sneeze or a cough would bring a sharp piercing pain to my stomach, but now it's totally painless.
My garment has started to cause a bit of pain if I wear it for too long. I am not sure why, because my swelling has gone down quite a bit. Hence, for the past 2 days, I have been giving myself a sanity break of around 3 hours during the day when I go about garment-free.
Hi miuccia
My uniform is the normal full office suit with tight skirt.. I am intending to do my thighs 1st.
Let say if one will to gain weight again or childbirth, is it easy to put on weight again? Did the doctor say that you will gain back weight on your abdomen again?
Must we follow any strict dieting too?
I think you'll have to consult the doctor to find out what sort of recovery regime he'll put you through, and the type of garment you have to wear.
Do you intend to lipo the whole thigh? If so, skirt suits will be tricky. If you were to lipo the entire circumference of your thighs, and from the knees up all the way to the butt, you will have to wear a long compression garment that goes all the way down to the mid-calves. Basically, the compression garment has to cover beyond the incision point. So, I don't think you would be able to wear your skirt suit uniform. There's no pant suit version of the uniform?
Yes, you will still be able to gain weight after lipo. But the weight gain will be more at the areas that have not been lipo-ed, e.g. your tummy. To maintain your shape, you'll have to watch your diet and exercise.
Day 11
Finally! I removed the stitches from 3 of my incisions - there are 2 more to go.
The pain is getting lesser and lesser. Ultrasound is no longer an agony! There's just an occasional sharp pain when the probe goes over the harder areas. I can also gently scrub my torso with a loofah! Some of the hardened areas have also become softer to touch. I wonder if it's because the ultrasound sessions really worked.
But I've not seen the light at the end of the tunnel yet. I still have weeks of the foam and garment to endure... Can't wait to show off my slender waist!
Just realise I counted wrongly. Today is actually Day 13!
Day 13
I'm feeling a lot less grouchy today, because the foam isn't obvious through the dress I wore today. Too bad I only have that one piece. I will have to go back to looking pregnant again tomorrow.
After removing the foam and compression garment for my shower, I noticed that the swelling has gone down by a lot. Now my stomach is slightly concave! Amazing. I think this is what post-lipo patients call a 'wow' moment.
The angry red bruising on both sides of my butt (dunno how the bruise moved there coz I did nothing to my butt) has faded to a blackish colour. These are the last 2 bruises. I think the bruises will be gone by this time next week.
I really have to take this recovery process one day at a time to stay sane...
i think you girls are so brave!!
I still haven't been able to pluck up the courage to do it yet.. sigh.. wisdom tooth extraction is enough to freak me out! I still shiver when i think of the time when I did my wisdom tooth extraction![]()
Hi plastic440033, thanks for the constant encouragement! Yeah, I think my stitches are taking too long to be removed too, but the incision sites aren't causing any discomfort. It's the hardened areas that are really painful. I do hope they would go away soon!
Hee, a_lhh, I haven't had the courage to extract my wisdom teeth, though my dentist told me I can't keep procrastinating!
Day 14 and 15
I've not regained my full mobility yet. Bending down to pick up something still causes sharp pain. Accidentially prodding the liposuctioned areas, which have turned almost rock-hard by now, also causes sharp pain. I didn't know the pain would actually last this long. Oh well.
But I'm happy with my shape! I know I'm gonna look great in dresses after I cast away this foam and garment! I'm gonna buy myself a new dress to celebrate after my doctor says I can chuck the foam and garment. :D
