Ribbons -> A second opinion should be sought then. I really wont go back to the same doc a 3rd time when the conditions have persisted over that long. You did right to exercise good hygiene. Please seek a specialist soon. I do not have any personal recs. Maybe you could ask for a referral from the polyclinics

    Yup.. Thanks Glossie. I will.
The crappy doctor is probably just full of kinky ideas and doing an easy job..

if i did not remember wrongly.. my friends paid around 60 plus for the consultation plus medication .. she went to a neighbourhood doctor whereby she had seen since young as it was more comfortable for her .. the doctor asked her questions about her sex life and habits and so on.. I read from a magazine that drinking cranberry juice is good for virginal infections... oh ya... get a femine wash and use it as instructed helps keep you 'clean'... even though I do nto have any infections.. i personally has a habit of using it as it makes me feel 'clean'.. especially during my period...

most women would experience UTI or vagina infection several times in their life. this is because bacteria is present everywhere in the environment, even inside our bodies. usually we "live in harmony" but sometimes the balance just dips. its just like how come people get cold or flu more often than others.

if are prone to infections, switch to using a feminine wash. normal shower foam is alkaline and can disrupt the natural pH balance of the vagina.

ribbons: i really feel like boxing your doctor, for two reasons. he/she seems to have a lack of fundamental knowledge of microbiology and no respect for patients.

Plain Substance : Absolutely!!! He even asked me like how often i did 'that', must be very often blah blah.. even when i said clearly, no. NUTZ.. i told myself the next time i ever do go to him, i'll tape his questions and send to the medical board for action.. hahahaha

Poem : Yup Yup.. i'm taking this cranberry effervescent tablets now that will dissolve into very yummy drink daily now. I do think it really works, because just while back, I started having this discomfort again, and was taking citravescent now and then already. The discomfort has since eased alot.

my itchness is not very severe. It happens sometimes only. But I do get burning feeling near vaginal area quite often.
I've bought this vaginal cleanser where i clean it after bathing. But dont seems to work. So got to really see doc about it.

ribbons, you went to a male doctor? why not find a female doctor? IMO, besides feeling more comfortable with a female, they'll understand the situation more too, since we're women.

and i think there's really something wrong with him. my doc told me antibiotics may be one of the possible cause(and i think so too, cos i'm taking it at that time). from then, i see this doc when i'm unwell, cos she knows what medication will not trigger the itch. and give me milder antibiotics. i really think you shld chg a doctor and medication as well. and like happybean said, over-cleansing will cause this prob as well.

where do you stay? i only know of a female doc in wdls area.

I'd agree with Shan. If you've been on antibiotics and on a pill, this might cause yeast or a vaginal infection...

I ever have it during my pregnancy in the last trimester. My gynea said I ate too much sugary food and prescribe anti-fungi cream. He mention that once you got it, chances of it coming back again is much higher than people who never have this before.

Shan.. thanks for the recommendation for the female doc..mine is not the vaginal or genital itch issue though, it's really urinary tract infection so it's doesn't need physical examination. Overcleansing will result in upset of the pH balance of the vaginal so resulting in infection, but mine is with the urinary tract, so overcleansing won't affect i believe..

Now i'm in the Netherlands, so hoping very hard that i don't fall sick because I really don't want to need to see a doctor when I'm in foreign land..
