Has anyone tried tooth planting? What's the process like?

Heya..
I have not tried tooth implants.. but here's what i know.
Implants are the best solutions if u are replacing a single tooth, its alternatives like dentures are too cumbersome & uncomfortable & bridge would require trimming down it's neighbouring teeth.. and for crowns, it is still possible for your teeth area inside the crown to decay.
For implants, the dentist would first have to check your bone level. If you have lost the tooth recently, then it should not be a problem because the bone would not have receeded too fast...
Basically, you will undergo a surgery to 'implant' the core in. It is a simple surgery like wisdom tooth extractions... and then the core is left for a few months. Your bone is supposed to grow and 'stabalise' the core. After which, u go back and fit in the 'teeth' which they had already taken a mould of previously... and u're done. Implants are supposed to last you to you die(touch wood).
The price of implants have also become much more affordable now... the surgery portion is allowed to be claimed under medisafe.
Hi, does that mean that I would need to stay 'toothless' for sometime first before i get the implant?
My orthodontist said the fee for an implant if I'm gonna have one will be around $4K! :O :O :O
$4K!!!! So expensive?
But mine is a complete implant coz I extracted one molar due to infection from my wisdom tooth... & I had no $$$ @ that time so I extracted it.
Am on braces course now & hence my orthodontist asked me as the treatment will be slightly different whether I want to have an implant or not.
*Big Headache*
iirc ndc is doin for 3k.
Heya... yes.. i guess you would have to stay without the real 'tooth' while your bone grows on the core. BUT.. u might wanna ask if they will put a temporary crown... because when people do crown, they get a temporary one before their real crown is being completed in the lab.
Yep.. the cost of the implant will be about $3K BUT the surgery part where u insert the core can be paid via medi save.
and yes melody, i have seen cases like that too. If you want to put implants then the dentist will shift and leave a gap there..... and usually molars they will advice for you to replace it because u need them to eat. I'm starting on my ortho too.. but i once have a canine removed.. but because i have not enough space so i'll just have to extract 3 premolars... and its too bad because canines make the teeth look nicer...
i am quite unsure abt root canaling..implants and crowning..from what i know..root canaling and crownings dont require extractions?![]()
thinking of doing tooth implant... but the medisave claimable amount is upto how much?![]()
