166cm is tall... for a girl. I'm 160cm and the last time i weight myself was 50kg.. guess it should be 53 now.
Have been trying to tone up.. fitness instructor gave me a diet of 0 carbo.but i just cannot keep to it.Even though it's one of the quickest diet to lose weight.
Anyway, i decided to take a short cut to tone down.
I would do cardio bout 45mins bout 3 times a week, plus this 'weight loss' supplement which doubles my efforts. So after bout 1 week, i feel that my fats don't bulge out from the sides of my jeans that much.
A workable diet which i once adopted was a pure diet of chicken breast with BBQ sauce and steam fish , steam eggs, steam vege and lotsa fruits. Really good diet. Worth a try!

must :wheee: to maintain weight and swim more since i find swimming's great for tone

can't diet, might as well ask me to DIE

Haha, me too! No way I'm gonna starve myself to look thin. You lucky chick, Blushed! Sometimes I got away with not putting on much but, like you said, I'd better get started on an exercise regime to maintain the weight, and more so, to become more healthy.

Dear Goddess, please do not let yourself be a victim of senseless vanity. You really look fine and well, regardless of the range you're in. Moderation is always the policy. A lil detox dieting will do everyone good; just don't go overboard, is all!

yeap.. i would say that vanity is one my greatest weakness. But it's no doubt that women will always want to be slimmer. and i must bear in mind moderation :o: though any exercise or diet more extreme i would not be able to keep to it anyway.

I'm around 1.6cm too and weighted 48kg. Hope I can go down to the previous 43kg as I look really chubby @ 48kg.

One thing about me: I don't exercise. But I went swimming last week which is one good acheivement for someone like me who only have Sunday off. Also went to Amore and enquire about the package. Really feel like signing up.

I am currently taking Nature tea that aids the body's natural ability to cleanse itself of toxins, combining efficient cleansing action as part of a weight management program. Took my first pack last night.

i've ALWAYS been obsessed abt losing weight BUT i can NEVER resist the temptation of food! love eating! so everytime i try to diet it'd last no more than 2 days! (unless, of course, the food sucks, like in school where the only choice is canteen food which u tend to get sick of after awhile) and this explains why i can never lose weight!! :piss:

Gosh, Queenie! You're underweight and you say you're chubby at 48kg?? You're too hard and critical of yourself. I feel I have to counsel you! You're not one of those who eats only biscuits for dinner and Milo as the only beverage throughout the day..? Please do take care of your health. It's not about how much you weigh!

Hey gals, I don't have much experience with diets (I thank the powers-that-be EVERYDAY that I have a high metabolic rate) but here are some things I've read about and seem quite sensible to try:

    1. POWER WALKING
is more effective than running if you're looking to lose weight and burn fat.

I don't quite know the science behind this, but it's been proven, and besides, it's a lot easier on your joints and probably easier to get into if you haven't exercised for quite awhile! I believe experts recommend at least 20 mins - 30 mins of power walking, 3 times a week.

    2. EAT LESS, BUT EAT OFTEN
Eat smaller meals, but eat more frequently so you don't get hunger pangs and don't crave anything.

    3. EAT WHAT YOU WANT WHEN YOU WANT TO
I truly believe in this. Our bodies have a way of telling us what they need most. If you're craving that chocolate, eat what you want and eat your fill. If you deny yourself, chances are you'll binge after an extended denial period. If you eat your fill, you will be satisfied and won't crave it anymore.

Recently after I embarked on my exercise routine, I found myself craving plenty of protein! Fish, dairy products, beef...I guess our bodies really DO tell us what it needs!

    4. CUT DOWN ON CARBOHYDRATES
Especially late in the day. Many Hollywood stars won't eat carbs any later than lunch. (NO pasta for dinner, for eg.) This makes sense to me because after dinner, the food will just settle in your tummy and you're not going to be able to work it off, so it will just accumulate as er...fat, I guess. If you eat pasta for lunch, you still have the afternoon to burn it off.

Sooo....for dinners, nutritionists recommend protein and steamed vegs. Healthy too!

i put my hands up for power walking, definitely works better for me, compared to jogging. i dun have the stamina to job, after 10 mins of jogging, i'll just give up. i can do power walking for an hour or so, hence burn for fats. power walking helps to slim down my legs without building big calf muscles.... personally i find that jogging build up calf muscles, that's another reason why i do power walking instead of joggin.

sad to say... i m too lazy to continue my power walking, else i could have maintain those slim legs...

Hmm... I'm doing only power walking for my cardio now as im getting lazy. However, i think jogging is really good for the legs. BUT the thing about jogging is that u have to jog long distances. AND for the first month of intense jogging, legs may appear bigger but after that, your muscles will be toned, and it lasts! The only way i managed to tone my legs was like 4 months of intense jogging on the :wheee: . but after 6 months of missing gym, they were more or less gettin flabby...

However... though i could cover 5km on the treadmill in 25 mins, plus another 15 mins on the cross trainer without getting really out of breathe... 2km of SLOW joggin on road KILLED me last week. and my muscles started aching.. thats when i realised that running on the treadmill is nothing compared to running to cover ground... and that's demoralising.

Yep, running on the treadmill is NOTHING like running outside on the road/pavements.... running in the real environment makes it harder as u have to adjust your speed, maneuver yourself along the road.... definitely harder... that's why I take the chicken way out and run on the treadmill.... kekekeke
