Hmm is the student discount open to uni students too?
I need a hair cut soon, probably will go on Wednesday, but I need to hear more opinions on who is better with short and thick hair.

Thank you for the concern! really appreciated!
Btw, i did soft straight before and kimage and was disappointed. The effects were gone after washing my hair. Really wasted my money.
Oh I see that's fine then I guess

you know ah, soft straight, soft rebonding won't last, usually it's for people who wants naturally flowy hair, on the straight side or for people who wants their straight hair back...can blow dry to sleek straight or natural waves at the end. It's hardly like the other rebonding techniques....this is what I experience whenever I did perms and miss my own straight hair....

Anybody knows if Chester is good at cutting short and slightly wavy hair? My current stylist doesn't know how to cut -- my hair grew out after a two weeks looking like a broomstick. Thks!

Just got a haircut from Eugene. I wanted to get a good stylist because I'm cutting my hair short for the first time in years. As expected, it built a huge hole in my pocket. But I the haircut Eugene gave me. My eyes look bigger and I look younger and more energetic. He's worth every cent. I'm going back to get my hair coloured.

    Default Urban Hair by Ginrich

Went to cut my hair after coming across a magazine about differenthair stylists so decided to give urban hair a shot!

Called them up 2 weeks ago to book an appointment with Chester Wong their senior stylist who was featured in the magazine.

However when i arrived they told me my appointment is with Alvin Foh instead and assured me that he was a senior stylist as well. I was pretty upset at that time and they told me that if i wanted Chester, i would have to wait and they are unsure what time he will be available to cut my hair.

So i decided to let Alvin cut my hair. He instructed one of the guys to wash my hair and in my opinion he did a splendid job. Bring up conversations and giving me advice about my hair and what types of shampoo i should use.

Alvin then came over to cut my hair and he was very gentle with lots of experience! I totally loved my hair after that.

However, i found that the people there are not very friendly especially chester who just walked past people with his noes in the air! He would then give me weird stares as if i am young looking and could not afford his service.

They stated in the magazine that cuts from him would costs $39 but i was wrong! The bill came up to $75 which was alot of difference and i realised that the junior stylist charge $49 and Senior Stylist $75!!!

Its very expensive for the haircut and i might not go back anymore although i like Alvin's cut and service.

i had my hair cut done by Chester in June(IIRC). He is okie and quite a nice chap.
the cut is nice and he makes hair cutting sounds like engineering procedures. =P

that time it cost me $49 (IIRC) for the hair cut and thats that.
But i did not go back again as i find that his cut is nice but not great.

But $75 for a cut is really a tad on the high end. Too much.

Actually Chester just got promoted about 2 months ago, that's why his prices have gone up. But for old customers, you still pay the previous price of $45(i think?) when you first go back to him for cut since his promotion. Thereafter i'm not so sure, because i haven't been cutting my hair for 2 months already cos i want to grow it long.

Yup...I think Chester Wong is absolutely GREAT when it comes to cutting hair! I had a disastrous hair-cut at Jean Yip, where the stylist thinned my hair too much and caused it to frizz up. So I went to Chester to get my hair fixed. He snipped away at my hair patiently for 2.5 hours! lol. At the end of it he had managed to reverse the damage done by the previous stylist, and also not taken too much off the length. I highly recommend him!

    reviving the thread

i've got fine curly, thin hair. right now it's slightly past my shoulder. i was thinking of cutting it short again.

can anyone recommend a stylist who's good with doing short styles or cutting curly hair? i see chester's quite a fave, is he still at ginrich?
