Used the Vidal one before. It's not too bad for its price i guess. But it 's quite bulky. Anyway, I sold my VS one off and got a ceramic straightener, which works so much better. If you ask me, I'd say got straight for a ceramic.

I'm guilty however of using it almost everyday because my hair is just too un-managable without it. I believe Redken has a product which protects your hair from heat, but I have yet to try it!

Default Vidal Sassoon ceramic flat iron?

I saw in Watson's the other day that Vidal Sassoon has come up with 2 ceramic flat irons. Has anyone tried either of them?

Hmm! I'm interested now! I was actually eyeing the ionic ceramic triple system one, but I know the slim one is cheaper. I think I'll give it a plunge

Oh! I didn't realise that the slim ceramic iron was more expensive. And the temperature control is really important. So the slim one is more effective for getting the hair really straight?

I think that if your mom's hair is naturally curly/wavy, using a flat iron will not get it stick straight. If she uses a straightening product and a flat iron, she might get a temporary straight effect, and that will probably be lost once she sleeps or washes her hair. In short: temporary.

If your mom really wants straight hair permanently, recommending rebonding to her, or the other technology (that doesn't make hair as straight as rebonding...can't remember the name ). Then whenever she needs to "touch up" her straight hair, she can use a flat iron.

Dunno about the Kimage flat iron - anyone tried it? They didn't mention the brand, nor whether it's made with ceramic plates. Ceramic plates are supposed to be superior.

Thanks for the reply! Yup, My mom's hair has stubborn loose curls at her hair ends. Usually stylist always asked her if she permed her hair.

I agreed that Kimage did not state the brand of the flat iron which gives me nothing to do research on the quality of it.

straight or not bad or good all depends on the temperature u adjusting. I bought my ceramic flat iron at only $96 so happy my frends help me buy at a discount price as he's the hairstylist from a salon,so he know the manufacture soo happy. Those who now considered buying retail price i guess is $200 not $350(like last itme soo eX). my brand is annis and Meiyu i bought one big and small one

N matter how curly ur hair are temperature adjusting right u can get a sleek striaght glossy hair Ohhh after that a serum recommend to stay in shape for the whole dayz while clubbing. When our hair keeep flying while we dance its cool like BoA hahha

    reviving this thread...
I'm really keen on getting a ceramic flat iron too. I'm so sick of blowing dry my hair and then the straightness doesn't even last for 3 hours. Been reading the wonders of the flat irons on folica.com and am so tempted, but gosh, it is so darned expensive!!! and I'm in Nz, I dun know where the hell sells ceramic flat irons here, so I might just buy it off the web. Anyone bought from folica before with good reviews?

okie impatience got the better of me, I went ahead and purchased. I did not buy from folica, but after doing some internet research, I went to the toni & guys salon and purchased the flat iron they are using in store, that being ghd ceramic flat irons. Have just used it, and I love it!!! hahahah. it's wonderful, hair is very shiny and smooth, no frizz, should have bought one ages ago. But of course, my pocket is burnt, it cost me a dear $350. ARGH! but then, ok when I look at my hair, it's worth it. A good buy, can last me ages. Dun feel like rebonding again, too damaging, I think this ceramic solves my blow dry and gives lasting straight hair. YAY!
