seems to me the your scalp is starved of nutrients, the last time i had that problem, i used hair/scalp treatment and my scalp condition improved. scalp was no longer scaly and hair loss stopped while new hair grew from bald places previously.

My hair stylist told me that Pantene and such actually causes hair loss due to certain chemicals and also the strong fragrance.

I think you need a calming shampoo if you have an itchy scalp.
Not drugstore but Kerastase Dermocalm shampoo works wonders for my mom's itchy scalp!
the good thing about it is that you need only a very small dollop of shampoo to create a lather so it lasts longer too.

Anyways, I've discovered the wonders of Tea Tree Oil! I add a couple of drops to a blob of shampoo before application, and it is so soothing and has reduced my itchiness! Ahhh!
From my understanding, Tea Tree Oil is used to treat infections. It will help the pus dry up, but if you use it on dry skin, it's going to make it more dry..

My sis has the same problem of dry, itchy and flaky scalp too. She has eczema on her scalp last time which causes this problem. Any recommandations on products or treatments which can help this problem? thanks in advance!

I know tea tree oil can be beneficial in treating skin irritation and rashes such as ezcema, and keeping the wound clean. When used on my scalp, I found it helped keep it hydrated rather than dry, but I guess it could be different on other people.

My scalp is loads better now, and I don't need to use Tea Tree Oil anymore (use it too often and it becomes ineffective). But, I have switched to organic haircare with natural oils in it, such as the ones in the link below. My hair is really glossy now and my scalp has maintained a really good condition. However, I don't know if Singapore has a similar alternative that you can purchase.

just went for a scalp treatment and the stylist analyze my scalp. she says i got more of sensitive scalp rather than oily scalp.

grrr i just bought the kerastase oily scalp shampoo last week. think i am going to buy kerastase dermo calm shampoo to rotate.

i understand theres 2 type of shampoos under dermocalm range, 1 for dry hair 1 for oily. if i have got oily scalp and dry ends which should i get?

any advice for treating sensitive scalp?

Sad to say, my scalp is very sensitive too. If don't wash everyday it will itch.

Have tried scalp treatment too, works for a while but for me isn't a long term solution. Lately have been using those natural shampoo from those natural shops where they just add in the essential oils. And they do recommend according to your requirements. I find it works nicely for me and the smell is heavenly.

My bottle is finishing soon, guess will have to go back and get somemore real soon.

dewy : Is it expensive?? Hmm.. IMO, I think you should *** use whatever shampoo you have and then just invest in a sensitive scalp shampoo alternating with a normal drugstore shampoo for oily scalp since yours is sensitive??

julie08 : Natural Shampoo??! I luv those... Where did you get yours??! =Þ
