I did my perm and water matrix treatment at Hair Sense Gallery at Far East Plaza #02-26/27 . My stylist MeiMei is really very good in perming. She told me to do a digital perm and she only charge me at $168 plus haircut. You should give it a try. She will give you a free consultation first and whether you want to do it or not, she will not push you further. Try calling her at this number for appt: 67382566

I did my first perm at Reds @ Bugis Junction. I wanted to opt for the Loreal Wonder wave cuz my friend did hers and it turned out well but the hairstylist recommended a digital perm instead. Well, it turned out well, i really love it. You can give her a try

i just did my first perm yesterday!

i wanted my hair to be sth like shakira (hahaha!) and stylist gave me a spiral perm. satisfied!

did mine at Le Sandy (by Sandy and Li Ling).. $155 for hair that reach slightly below bra.

I think if you want to have something more fun than just glam bouncy big curls, you can try spirals :D

Miko's perm

Mine's a digital perm. Manageable, I don't use hair products besides shampoo and conditioner. I got it done at kimage, about two hundred dollars...4 months old already...

Default Different between Digital perm and ceramic perm

What i knew the digital perm is newest technology use the eletric hot to perm the hair, it's not so dry and not so damage your hair as ceramic perm.

Basically this Japanese Digital Perm is modern technology has revisited the idea in light of the advances made in chemical texture services with Japanese Thermal Restructuring techniques. The new “Digital Perms” use specially devised equipment that are combined with specially formulated waving solutions to combine chemical and thermal waving techniques to give smoother, healthier waves. The heat application is controlled and more productive, and the results are smooth, clean waves and curls in the hair.

The biggest difference between other perms and a digital perm is the shape and the texture of the wave created by the digital process. A normal perm, or a “cold perm”, makes the wave most prominent when the hair is wet, and loose when it is dry.

A digital perm makes the wave most prominent when the hair is dry, and loose when it is wet. Therefore you can create the dry and curly look of the curl iron or the hot curler. The digital perm requires heat, so it is also called a “hot perm” in comparison to the “cold perm”.

One of the beauty with Japanese Digital Perm is that it's make styling very easy, and if you set the curl in the morning, at the end of the day when the wave loosens, you can revive the curl just by curling it with your finger. The look is especially popular among women with long hair and traditionally straight hair types. This has made the process extremely popular in Asia and other regions where straight hair is the ethnic norm. Most digital perm machines come with a wide range of rod sizes, so virtually any permed look is possible.

As with the Japanese Restructuring and Straightening service, you should look for salons that have specially trained technicians before booking this type of appointment. Be sure to do your homework and check out the technician’s experience level with Digital Perms and ask to see a portfolio and references.

had digital perms last yr.. and the hairstylist told me it can last up to 6mths.. but it lasted for like 1yr for me. Maybe becoz i had natural curl.. Not too sure of the difference between Jap perm and digital perms.. that was the first time i permed my hair.

but i feel that i tend to drop more hair aft perming. maybe its my imagination? do u all encounter this too?

Overall, jap perm is just using chemical while digital perm is chemical with heat. Digital will last longer while jap perm only 1-2 months.

The stylist says that if I dun want lasting curls, can choose jap perm.
