So many bad experiences?
Anyway, is there any good comments on their hair treatment? Hair is dropping so THEY think I should take up their package for maintenance![]()
i also had a few very bad experiences few years back with Jean Yip but from different outlets! condemn jean yip since then! they really left a very deep impression on me....
jean yip chinatown point....
happened to pass by and saw that they were having 50% haircut promo so i went in for a cut. the lady who cut my hair, did not wash my hair before cutting. So i thought she probably will be washing after the cut. Then when she is done, she left without saying she was done with my hair. And i sat there to wait for my hairwash (since i was waiting for somebody too). After quite awhile, i was getting impatient and asked another lady. she then called for the lady who did my hair. Then, she came to me (very rude): but u already washed ur hair today! ur hair was still damp. you cannot wash hair for so many times in a day! so i didnt wash! but u want to wash i can still wash for u! but ur hair will be damaged! u wan to wash or not?!
and i nearly fainted on the spot......... i said nevermind!! and went to counter to pay.. another lady keep apologising on her behalf. but to me, its useless. she should apologise herself! and she could have told me politely, not in such a rude way as if i owe her $. does having a 50% promo doesnt means she can be so so super rude to me?!
second time was at jean yip cwp.......decided to try as i will not be so biased to condemn all jean yip outlets just by 1 incident at one branch....
wanted to get a haircut. and this lady took a look and touched my hair for a few seconds and commented in a very rude way: AIYO ur hair very very dry... TSK TSK TSK.. want to do treatment?
i politely replied i dont want.. perhaps another day.. then she gave me the very black face and keep giving very bad n very rude comments repeatedly throughout the WHOLE haircut!!! and while she cut, she kept swinging my hair around like hay/shit!!! i paid $30+ to get insulted and treated like shit??!! i was super super pissed and swear never to step into that place again
and the best part is.....i told my friend about my experiences at jean yip.... and shortly after, she went to jean yip junction 8 to have a haircut. she told her stylist about my bad experiences in jean yip outlets... what the stylist replied to her was: oh, as a hair stylist, we have to handle many customers including difficult customers... if the customer dont like a certain stylist, she can always change stylists. but when the customer keep changing, then u know that the problem does not lie in us..........
.... i was speechless.... how come i dont have such experiences at other hair salons? how ridiculous.... they dont admit they have bad attitude and service and still can push e blame to customers??

i experience few bad services at jean yip outlet too.
kimage is so much better. *thumbs up*
Jean yip at Bukt panjang plaza: was in a rush so didnt have enough time to wait for my hair stylish at kimage, thus went over to the very empty and quiet jean yip to snip my fringe. A bunch of stylist crowd at the counter and when i mention i went to cut fringe, they push over to each other. Like: u take, u go, u la. i was so pissed off.
OMG, to think all this while, there was a few times when i'd be tempted to have my hair done at JY. They look so professional from the outside; never know they're empty inside! For the price they charge, i think i won't risk getting myself ridiculed there.
I've only been to Jean Yip once to do soft bonding.. Not that I have any major complaints coz my hair turned out alright. But yeah their service isn't very good.. With so many hairdressers crowding the place, it makes it look like a "pasar" and not exactly exclusive looking. Hahaha.. And not to mention I think a lot of the hairdressers are trainees.... Out of that whole lot of hairdressers standing all around the salon, probably only 3 are experienced. The rest are just kids doing your hair. I don't really like it. I want to do another soft bonding coz it's been 6 mths already, but I'm contemplating whether to go back to Jean Yip or not...
PS: They should fire all the kids/aunties hairdressers and get some proper ones.. No class..
Recently I had hair treatment at Jean Yip AMK. They charged me $105 for a simple treatment which just included washing the hair with shampoo, then applying one hair treatment cream and leaving it under steamer for 15 min followed by washing the hair with water and blow dry. It was just a simple hair treatment that finished quickly and would cost around $50 or less in other salons in shopping malls.
They said it was Oxygen treatment. When I enquired at the front counter before going in for hair treatment, they showed me a price chart where it mentioned it was 4 step intensive treatment with normal price for $140 but they said they would give it to me with special price $98+GST. So I agreed to undergo treatment. When it was done so quickly in one treatment step, I asked the hair stylist why it was not 4 step treatment as they mentioned earlier. The guy went to the front counter to ask his colleague and came back saying it was just their mistake about the price and I had to pay $105 for basic treatment.![]()
I feel like I was cheated but couldn't do anything and just had to pay the price they quoted. They even pushed me to buy their hair treatment package for $888.
I tried to send complaint emails to Jean Yip about this but the emails just bounced back. Anyone have any idea how to make effective complaint?
I would like to lodge a complain for unprofessional services provided by Jean Yip yesterday @ Bukit Panjang Plaza
I have requested for rebonding services and was told to pay additional SGD 30 for scalp treatment
When I refuse to accept the offer, the services that I received was horrible.
They pulled my hair and I was scalded with equipment
they even pull my hair and asked me:"Painful ah"
I feel totally humiliated when receiving the treatment and this makes me feel threatened because I did not choose to pay for the 30 dollars scalp treatment
I have lodge a report to Singapore Consumer Association
I did not expect to receive any compensation but would like to give warming to Jean Yip
that such unprofessional services should not be accepted by customer and in the industry
