Holiday Plaza is rather OK, they quite pro in latest hair techniques IMO.

I tried 3 salons so far but all for cutting to new hair-styles, no chemical processing so far.

I tried one particularly honest one, i have to go dig out their card. They don't hard-sell & give honest advice on whether to go on to do any chemical processes if never done so b4.

I was trying to find a good salon to perm my hair & got several quotes, all prices were pretty close but this shop (mentioned above), actually gave me honest advice on what should be done b4 i perm & how long do i still need to keep b4 perming. Unlike the rest who insist i perm on the very day. Come on, it was already 6pm, how can they just press me & insist on me doing the job right away?

Most of established ones have technical advisors, whereas some (not the academy schools) are using new birds!!!

BTW, their quotes for creative Jap perm all aro S$100-S$120 w/ treatment thrown in. They ensure me they uses non-Malaysian origin products, i didn;t actually question them much.

What are the type of services u are looking at? I will be there this Sat, so i can help u ask.

I've sign up for the Jean Yip O3 treatment at their branch in JB Cit Square. It cost around S$120 when I do it in singapore but for 7 session there, it is RM1008. I feel that the pricing is alright but the problem is travelling all the way in.

My stylist is Joanne Fong and she is off every Wed. Their no. is 07-2210386/7

I did my rebonding at Jantzen once by Stylist Jack. Cost me $145 (long hair)Ya, no hard selling and they are very friendly but i realise the price can be the same if you do it at Jantzen Singapore.

My rebonding is not really fantastic. Jack is good but i think his assistant who is quite young and handsome, is not very experience and i hate it when he touch my hair. Overall result: Hair turn out to be dry though i did treatment, it is so natural straight that not much people realise i did rebonding!!!

I paid $100 for the Jean Yip treatment in Singapore. Sign up a package of 6 times.

Did rebonding before in those very old shop in Holiday Inn Plaza, should be, memory failing me. Very good result and cheap, can see that the gals really put effort to make my then very unruly hair straight, and the results lasted for a yr over till I perm my hair. Everybody commented how beautiful my hair was, even total strangers like foreigners when I went clubbing.

Now my hair is just like a patch of grass ever since I dye + highlight, then perm and dye + highlight and rebond and dye in 6mths, regretted hightlighting my hair in 1st place, makes my hair a little dry and that's when I decided to perm and there after and causing my hair to be this state now.

I am a frequent JB-salon visitor. I'm a loyal customer of Thomas & Guys (same level of Jantz - one level below the cinema) for around 3 years. Been there for ceramic perm (3x), highlights, cuts, wash except dye. I really recommend this salon. My hairdresser consists of Elaine and Kelvin (I personally recommend Kelvin). Some of the hairdressers there are eye-catching too, guys or gals. But bear in mind Kelvin belongs to the expensive range among the stylists there.

    1st ceramic perm: RM350 (Kelvin)
    2nd ceramic perm + highlight: RM500 (Elaine)
    3rd ceramic perm + highlight: RM450 (Elaine)

Color shine treatment + trim: should be below RM200 (Elaine and Kelvin)
Color shine treatment + cut (my last visit): RM 238 (Kelvin)

I'm very satisfied with Kelvin's skills that I'll try to ask for his service if possible. But he's very busy coz he has lotsa customers.

My hair belongs to long hair category. There're short and middle-length categories as well. They've just recently adjusted the categorization and prices. But overall, I still find it value for money. I'm very very satisfied with the perms especially.
