    Thanks Mel.

I googled for more info .... looks like synthetic hair could be the one for me .. supposedly easier to take care of. Real hair sometimes get tangled up easily if it's not of good quality? Dunno ... still thinking hard about the choices ..

Oh I'm so tempted to get hair extensions too! I had long hair all my life until about 1 1/2 years ago when I had it all chopped off. I'm very happy with my current hairstyle but I'm going to the UK for a year in Sept and I'm so worried about what to do with my hair! (Yes yes, bimbo me...) If I grow it out it's going to be super-messy b/c I have really thick wavy hair, so I thought of getting extensions...

Does anyone know which salon offers "Cold Fusion" hair extensions?

It's the most natural method yet and lasts up to 6 months. Instead of hot glue, they use a flexible polymer to bond the extensions to your hair near the root. Supposedly looks like normal hair to the untrained eye.

    Shunji Matsuo offers hair extensions

    1. clip
    2. hot bonding (using hot glue)
    3. cold glue or aka cold fusion (many diff terms)

    Average $500 to 1k

Better add that method 3 using cold glue is the best since hot glue can damage hair

Stella, eeriely similar plans we have. Plus my hair's in a real mess too! I was contemplating doing this once I get my pay from MAC!

Do update on your experience in BKK!

I asked for charges but the recep was pretty vague. Apparently she said its the same for all three processes

The only sure thing I got was that it's $8 per strand of hair (fake or real I don't know either)

Anyway I'll be calling again to enquire.

It's at Bideford rd, behind Crown Prince Hotel (the one with Swenson's)

    Hi all

I am interested in getting hair extension, not for length but for volume. My crown area is rather sparse and I was hoping that I could make it look fuller by doing hair extension. Is that advisable?

If that can be done, I would only have strands of hair 'attached' to the crown area. My hair is short now so should I get short strands of hair or long ones?

One more question, what happens to your own hair? Doesn't it grow out, thereby pushing the hair extension downwards?

Eeep..so many questions. I wish I could just go to a salon to ask but no salons here offers this service

hmm..yeah,the hairdresser once told me that when your hair grows, the extensions do get lower a bit.But then,it depends on what kind of hair extensions you get,coz the normal ones hairsalons offer normally last for a mth or two, even less sometimes...So u dun have to really worry abt ur hair growing much longer by then

    Default coloured hair extensions?

has anyone tried colour hair extensions? i'm thinking of getting a few done, ideally in pink, red, or purple, so they'll look like streaks on jet black hair.

any salons to recommend? i hear colour bar does them for $4/each and gorgeous for $15/each. does the price difference indicate a quality difference?

my friend had hers done and they fell off after one week! definitely NOT what i'm looking for.

hi! i've done hair extensions at jean yip before... minimum damage is $500!!!! personal experience, pretty difficult to maintain ya. should the extensions not done skillfully, strands will drop everyday. washing of hair will have to be very careful and..... it tangles very easily. however, it's cool to have long hair overnight
