Candybaby what i did for my permed hair was i applied some leave in cream first, follow by the loreal spiral splendour curl cream for permed hair. My curls look much more definite, bouncy and alive. If it still doesn't work for you, maybe you can go back to your stylist and get him or her to show you how to manage. Initially when i permed my hair i had a hard time getting used to it too as you may get bad hair day on some days. So i just play around with it and in no time i'm so used to it by now.![]()
I went for ceramic perm and hair treatment with my regular hairstylist. Adore the perm and now pray that I can handle the maintenance part. Brought my mum along to dye her hair.
Hair Before:
Hair after perm:
I also bought Schwarzkopf Bonacure Curl Bounce Shampoo and Conditioner formulated for curly and wavy hair, as well as Schwarzkopf upload volume lifting volume cream (2 medium control) she used to apply on my hair before blow drying with diffuser.
Then bought the leave on treatment (nuance airy) from essential in watsons as my hairstylist advises me for the next 2 days I can just apply only serum on hair.
I also bought essential hair mask (nuance airy) to nourish my hair...
The real care and maintenance will start from Friday onwards >_<
i would like to try a perm too,but just to check, is oily scalp suitable for perming? coz i scare the curls will look limp and "oily"....like never wash hair for a few days....![]()
I used to have oily scalp, and dandruff too. I tried changing my shampoo and have been using hair tonic to prevent dandruff, it works pretty well on my scalp. You should try it as well.
Hello! Just had my hair permed and my hairstylist recommended the Loreal Playball Curl Candy. Gel in texture and a nice fragrance, it really brings out the curls quite well! I'm a perm-virgin and am super low maintenance with my hair before this perm. So my hairstylist, knowing my 'pattern', highly recommended this to me and told me that I can stick with all my usual hair products like shampoo and conditioner, but if I want my curls to last I must use this!
Before blow-drying, I will separate my hair into 2 sections, spread some gel evenly on the permed parts (from ear down) by combing thru with my fingers. Then, twirl one of the sections first and blow dry while still holding the twirled section of hair against the hair dryer until 80% dry. Repeat with other section of hair.
Viola! Curls turn out nice and soft!![]()
my 2-cents worth, havent seen any reviews of this product in this thread so thought I could share this. Haven't use Potion 9 or Spiral Splendour before though so can't make comparison!
Hair Impact studio @ Tampines Blk 201E. (Tel: 6785 5541) I just did my ceramic perm with Kanon and my friend did her rebonding with Shirley at the same visit. Both of us are very satisfied customers! This is the 3rd time I did perms but the most satisfied ever!
My previous perms always start with small-medium size because the stylists always say it will loosen up nicely.... Only Kanon can do the medium- large curls and lasts well. Even my hubby also says this is the first perm that is really what we want.
Even after washing my hair the next day, my colleagues commented that they thought I set my hair in the morning before I came to work! Haha...finally found my best perm stylist!
My gf also did her rebonding and thinks she got a very natural straighten out style.
I think every stylist has his or her own forte....so it's important to identify the stylist's strength.
My mistake was thinking that the same stylist can do everything well.
I have always been patronizing Shirley for rebonding previously but I appreciate their honesty that Kanon is better in perms.

By the way, their treatment is really good too! I would expect treatments normally help repair our hair immediately after perm or rebonding, and hope to reinstate my hair condition to before perm. But this hair treatment they did can improve my hair to even better than before my perm! Its quite impressive, I would say.![]()
