jemay, shunji matsuo is opened by Japanese, ie Shunji himself. there're jap, korean and local stylist. A cut by the local stylist is $46 and by Shunji himself is $65 (b4 gst).

If you want something more affordable, you can try the Shuji quick service at Suntec inside Morgan. A cut is about $25 (can't remember the exact amount). I didn't quite like the cut i had there but then again cos i've got short hair, so i'm quite fussy about how my hair is cut. I think it's ok to go there for a trim.

the korean lady is Sunny. She's good and my SIL loves going to her. She charges $55. Ask for Jane next time, same price as Ching but better. She did a very nice Japanese perm for my friend.

$55 is for the cut. perm is at $100 plus.

Xue, I think the perm would look lovely on you.

heheh, dont worry Keiko, i'm not that blur. i'm tired of paying S$90++ for Le Salon, especially since the hairstyle's practically the same each time. so S$55 is comparatively ok!

shall go try just before i leave.

A cut by Shunji himself is only $65. That's definitely cheaper than Le Salon. This is the reason why I stopped going to Le Salon

Same here, Meow! Really don't like the new hairstyle Shunji gave me...it was my 1st cut with him.
My friend got Sunny @ Shunji's though and it was a nice haircut.

I think I'm going back to my regular Shaun at PS Kimage. He knows me, my style, everything. & I had compliments on his style for me. But now after Shunji...Regret, should have stuck to Shaun instead of trying to be adventurous. Am contemplating going back to him before school starts to see if he can remedy anything tho I'm going broke...hmmm.

Try Jane...she is not bad...saw a few of her customers and they looked great..Just realise Keiko too!
those who have met me recently, my recent haircuts were not by Jane but elsewhere. A decision that i regretted. The one where Mag first saw me was by Jane. Now i'm trying to grow out my hair so that I can go to Jane again.

So I called Shunji Matsuo @ Wellington and asked for Sunny/Jane - neither was available at the time slot I'd requested and I made my way to Shunji Matsuo Quick Service @ Suntec instead. To my pleasant surprise, I got Sean, a stylist that hops between both salons!

Articulate and forthcoming with information, I had a really productive session, asking questions and receiving v informed answers.

My cut didn't deviate drastically from the previous one but it looks better because it is now lighter and the layers blend into one another. It is neater too!

Patient and thoughtful, Sean told me more than once, for now I had to deal with the dry ends first and take care of myself during this time, and perhaps he'd see me in 2 months or 3, for colouring etc.

Haha, he was so afraid I was going to pop any moment and kept discouraging me from colouring my hair at the moment - not that I was planning to!

Am mighty pleased - learnt a ton from him about hair styling trends/techniques...

Mag --> the ji cha (talkative) type who loves a good chit chat with a hair stylist.
