Yeah! It was great the way he hold it with wax for me, but I cant seem to do it as nice as him..if can kidnapped him home for CNY and style for me then let him home, it'll be great!![]()
I now sort of manage to learn how to do my fringe, but not as nice as he does it, of cos, but better than yesterday.![]()

Anyone knows if REDS will increase prices during CNY???
thanks to all the lovely recs, i mustered up enough courage to 'betray' my regular stylist and try Kelvin (Reds) out. i've been so bored with my hair.
true to the comments by the cotters, Kelvin was patient, detailed and provided a run-down of what's wrong with my hair, what he could/planned to do and how to maintain it.
totally agree with the no hard sell or pushing products feedback.
he gave me a fantastic cut, no regrets!![]()
Oh I thought of betray my regular stylist too and try kelvin too. I am tired of my current style

is he good at cutting long hair? i understand angel is stella's stylist, is she good at cutting long hair too?
Ha ha... I am not very sure but I am going to betray my stylist and going to try kelvin's cut.![]()
My boyfriend and sister went to Kelvin and I accompanied them on both occasions. I find that Kelvin layers a little too much at the top of the head resulting in a puffy top which isn't the most flattering because they both ended up with hair sticking out weirdly from the top of their heads. Other than that, he's ok I guess, but I'm now in two minds on whether to go to him the next time I need a cut.
gracegan, i went to kelvin before too.. i quite like him buttt... he has this way of layering that makes my hair very 'frizzy'..not sure how to describe it..like hair sticking out everywhere..after a while it will tame down..
and abt the top being puffy ..when i told him to thin out the hair on the top of my head more he said its thin enough already and that the shape of my head is big and not my hair![]()
thanks girls but i think kelvin from reds is out for me, my hair is already so fine and thin i cannot imagine if he thins out my hair further.
angel..nono..i cannot take funky styles..
any other good stylists for long hair?
Read the posts on Kelvin @ Bugis Reds on the previous page... post my 2cents worth also....
He recommend me to do a straight perm to straighten out my old perm ends. I find that with the straightening and his layering at the ends, it looked heavy on the top and thin at the ends, dont like it. But after a while (few weeks too 1 month) it gets better and i actually like the layer he gave me on top. So overall its still ok.
Though he may not give a fantastic cut, for a price at $3x and very friendly service, i will definetly go back to him again. Maybe after sticking to him a while, more communication, he will get to know ur hair better and give u a better cut![]()
Yup, despite the fact that he layers too much sometimes..i think he is one of the friendliest stylists around..his PR skills is pretty good and he really takes time to listen to your requests. I guess i just have to tell him not to thin my hair down too much.![]()
hmm i kelvin sounds good again..but seems like he tends to overlayer your hair.
has anyone with fine and straight hair tried him and he doesnt over thin your hair? and u are liking it?
thanks!
I went to try out Kelvin from Reds Bugis after hearing so many raves. I would say he is nice and will tell u in detail what's wrong with your hair. However, he does layer a bit too much for my end, it feels thin now. I was asking him if i should undergo any treatment from the salon and he said no, cos my hair is dry but not damaged. i just need to use a suitable shampoo, do more treatment at home and apply leave in conditioner. this is quite surprising cos most stylists would encourage us to, he's definitely not pushy.
and yes the cut costs me $42 bucks!![]()
