    Hi Michannat,
I actually did it at a korean home salon near my house area. The korean community here, they sorta use their own homes to convert into hair salon services. My mother in law actually brought me to that place, coz it's popular amongst their community. It's at west harbour suburbs, at the korean stylist's home, quite some distance from auckland city, about 20mins drive. If you're still keen, I will get the address from my mother in law. Alternatively, when u're here, i won't mind meeting up with u and driving u there. SQ is still using stamford plaza hotel yup? I did however also note in city area, there are about 3 korean hair salons doing magic straight, 2 of them are along main queen street near the cinema row, I'm not sure if u know where I'm referring to. But I haven't tried magic straight there, but my hubby cuts his hair in one of those hair salons. Actually one of them is just on queen street opposite ascott metropolis where SQ used to stay. In any case, it costs around NZ$150-200 therabouts. Just let me know if u need me to bring u to that hairdresser k?

    Default Ji Won

Has anyone tried perming their hair at this Korean hair salon in Wheelock Place? How would you rate it and how much does it cost? TIA

I called them up to ask about the rates for their ceramic perm before. They quoted me $250 for slightly bra strap. Price DON"T include treatment and cut. Just perm only.

I'm making a choice between Reds and Ji Won salon. apparently I have booked an appointment with the reds at Bugis but the hairstylists I wanted is on leave so I feel like switching to Ji Won. Will I get any membership if I spent more than an amount in Ji Won?

And is there any good hairstylist in Ji won which you guys can recommend to me?

    Thanks...

If my hair's already fine to start with, will Magic Straight make my hair even more flat?

    Default Jiwon Hair Salon

I just read about this silky straight perm in CLEO.

"Jiwon creates the same natural looking staight locks you see on Korean soap stars through straight perm"
    $200-$270

What's the difference as compared to their past techniques (magic straight, xtenso) and effect it create? Please enlighten..

Default Magic Straight or Volume Xtenso

I have a frizzy and slightly wavy crown area and I'm having trouble deciding between magic straight and volume xtenso (essentially the same as xtenso, just that the technique is suposedly different).

I just wish to straighten out the frizz at the crown area but I like my hair voluminous. Volume xtenso will probably cost much more than magic straight..I was quoted $200++ for it, while magic straight is $100++ (if I remember correctly).

Can anyone who has visited Ji Won advise me? Oh, and are there any discounts or promotions for the salon? Thanks in advance!

Reviving this thread.. my girl friend recently went to Ji Won @Wheelock Place for a hair cut. It looks nice on her but the thing is she has an oval face shape and long and straight hair. So it is too general for me to decide whether to spend $70+ - $80+ for a haircut.

I've thick and slightly wavy hair that is rebonded since end of May this year. The regrowth is making my hair thicker and messier. I don't wish to rebond again and was thinking of either going for those big curls perm or let my hair be. My hair is layered and the back hits my bra hook but the side is around armpit length. My fringe is short@ my eye level and curly (as the rebonded part is all gone)!

Oh by the way, my friend recommended Jessie or was it Jessica (not sure of the name) to me.

    Please advice!

Anyone tried korean hair perm at Jiwon? I heard that korean perm are very bouncy and can achieve "the tong hair" effect.
