My vote goes to the Ritz's dinner buffet. IIRC it's $40+++ or thereabouts
I also like the fact that it's quite quiet there compared to other more "accessible" hotels/restaurants

I prefer the dinner buffet, a lot more variety than lunch. However both lunch and dinner buffets offer this chicken salad that's divine!! I'm salivating already Desserts here are only so-so. I can skip it entirely

Marriot's buffet is not bad, I prefer food at Ritz but the desserts at Marriot's lovely!! Plus it's next to Tangs

I like fullerton's high-tea, and its quite reasonable at abt $25++. You get to sit in big comfy sofa in the roomy high-tea area with a pianist serenading you. It comes with coffee/ tea and the works, and a three-tier selection of sandwiches, pastries, jams and desserts. And they are all very yummy, not to mention refillable

Highly recommended for the atmosphere alone!

    Hi all,

I have tried the chocolate buffet at the Fullerton and I must say, it was such a pretty sight! Chocolate in various forms, mousse, cakes, dips, ice cream, blah blah...I have been there a few times with galfriends and it feels like such a gals nite out, pigging out on chocolates.

I must say i felt rather gelak* after a while and I am not sure if i ate my money's worth but i feel it's more of an experience than anything else...and the ambience there is great too.. wonderful place to sit with friends and chit chat.

They have chocolates in various forms, not necessary the dark or milk kinds. For example, it may be mint chocolate cake or perhaps caramel, etc. They have cakes or desserts that are lighter or those that are extremely rich.

They even have strawberries and fruits put aside for you to dip into 3 different kinds of chocolates.

It is only avaliable on friday and weekends and start at 8.30. So go check it out if you wish!!!

Haha, this thread is turning into Chocolate Buffet Galore! Ditto the Desserts! thread. Everyone's crazy about the dark stuff.

Not technically buffet but ala carte buffet: Grand Plaza Parkoyal's Hua Yuen chinese restaurant. Complimentary sharks' fins for each diner. Order the same expensive dish as much and as often as you want. Minimum 3 pax.

I just had this and i find that i prefer the older version of the buffet spread. My previous few times there was like 1-2 years back and they had more warm/hot food then. When i went there last week, it was mostly cold-dishes with only 25% of warm chinese food? Haha.. my stomach cannot take too much cold dishes and so i prefer the old version.

Nevertheless, i still like their shark fins soup, Teppnyakki and the very-fresh sashimi( Ithink i must have gulped down 20 slices!!!) .. and yes.. the dessert selection is nothing to rave about but if you like seafood( fresh oysters! crabs and prawns) and they do have a pretty good-standard of Japanese cold-dishes, sushi and sashimi!

Must try the Marriot Hotel's buffet one of these days! My friends were raving about it too!

I've been there a few times and if you like cold dishes, it'll be worth it.

    The teppanyaki is good too

I think it's about $18 ++. I went there three times already and still can't remember...

Must have been too "drunk" from the chocolates I ate.

Oh, they only serve the chocolate buffet on fri and weekends...and you should try to book. If I am not wrong, it starts from 830 to 11 plus....so it's quite a nice place to hang out at night....great ambience
