Ditto White Bait. I like to sit outside near the bar. If you are there, buy their pate home in a screw-cap bottle home
Try Pierside Kitchen at EsplanadePart of Marmalade's group. They have another restaurant, Marmalade Pantry at the basement of Palais.
Also Indochine at Asian Civilisations Museum. The ambience is really NICE!
If you're not looking for something posh, but cosy and homely, do check out this cafe/restaurant at Level 5 FEP. It's on the right side corridor from the bubble lift, called "constant craving".
They've got pretty decent pastas and western food. You can get a fulfilling meal for under $10! The whole time we were there, we felt like we were in a friend's home (albeit a very nice funky and cosy one). The food is Halal tooThe chef and other staff there are really friendly too.
The Halia Restuarant at the Botanica Gardens! I've only been there once with hubby (then bf) but it was great![]()
No new things to say but Raves for Whitebait and Kale & Crustacean!!You've gotta go and check them out. Whitebait is more relaxed though. The food is good and they have fantastic sandwiches.. used to work at camden and would buy their sandwiches for lunch! Yum! Also try the pickles! They're service is good and the staff are friendly!
Crustacean was gorgeous! SO and I went cos we were drawn in by the nice fishtank in the shop (we love fish) lol. So anyway the food is really good! SO had the rib eye that was lovely, and I had a lovely lovely lovely meal of soft shell crab!!!It was really good and the plates looked really good!! yum! the warm chocolate cake was divine!! Also the guy singing was really really really good... I heard he alternates between singing at crustacean and a fosters!

I loved the food at Vansh! The interior isn't what I'd call cosy, though.. it's more sexy, actually! Great for a night out with a new date, I'd sayOriginally posted by ataraxia
Vansh (sic), a North Indian restaurant at Kallang river. Fantastic food and even more gorgeous decor. Very very good service too, that's friendly and personable.

Q: The resto that replaced Grill On Devonshire - is the decor the same? Such a shame.
Hi all, i've read that there are many raves on the Foster and Crustcacean place at Holland V. What is nice there and how's the price range?
Im planning a dinner/lunch for two but the problem is my friend eats all kinds of food except bread but for me, i only eat chicken, duck and seafood.
And is it ok to dress casually (eg tee and jeans) to dine at the places mentioned above?
a bit slow here, but any specific recommendations at indochine? this is the one at level one with the aquarium right? so the restaurant is indochine and the pub area is called nude? or is it the other way round?Originally posted by secrets
IndoChine at Wisma Atria is a lovely place. Indoor and outdoor dining areas available. There's a separate pub area with live band if you are in the mood to chill out too. Mid-range prices and excellent food. Recommended!![]()

Hi candela!
I was at PhoChine, the alfresco seating part at the Wisma outlet. The food's not too bad. If you're not sure what to order, try the sampler sets. You get a mixture of the various appetisers which we really liked!
Level 1 with the aquarium is actually a watering hole Aquadisiac. Nude is the oh-so-chic classy dining place next to it. Sorry if I'm a bit vague about it! Indochine's website should be able to tell you the exact difference; I am very  about the various offerings. : lol:

aah i see, thanks secrets!i must say this 5-in-1 concept of theirs may be unique, but it's rather confusing for first timers - you don't know what you're entering into!

Pricing for Crustacean is about $20++ for main courses and $10++ for starters, desserts and the like. I'm not sure if they do set lunches but for dinner of starter, main course and dessert, about $30++ per person.
Fosters is about the same except they serve club sandwiches and stuff about the range of $13-$20, IIRC. Their afternoon high tea scones set that is very popular is $9.90.
Generally, I think these places on this side of Holland V are pretty relaxed and casual so nice tee and jeans aree definitely fine.![]()
Oh! I know where Foster's is... where is Crustacean?
Or are they together?
TIA!
redpetal, I did a seach on the web and this is what I got:Originally posted by xue
It's at Holland Village, close to Foster's (two or three shops down?).
