You can try the Japanese restaurant at Goodwood Park Hotel. They serve pretty good Teppanyaki sets. Side orders include sushi, sashimi, etc. However, the price is pretty steep ($90++) but definitely worth the try. Not sure if there has been any changes in price & menu.
I used to work at this Jap restaurant at Casuarina Road near Pierce Reservoir...its located near the famous roti prata stall...its not really a restaurant but more of a comfortable relaxing family dining atmosphere concept...

hmm looking into som good jap restaurants when i come back in march

Kuriya at Great World City is worth a try. I had the set dinner the last time I was there and I really enjoyed it. Not only was the quality of the food good, the presentation was a treat.
I hang around Great World quite a bit but somehow never gone into Kuriya. I had the impression that it was expensive .. how much is a set meal? Sushi/Sashimi?

There's a Japanese Restaurant call Tempura Village in The Rail Mall at Upper Bukit Timah. it's not bad. Worth a try!
Did you mean Shima restaurant? If I remember correctly, they offer a buffet that gives you chawanmushi, tempura prawns, handrolls as well as teppanyaki. Not bad quality, really worth a try!Originally posted by epict

I like Nanto and Sento too.Geez, talking about this makes me so hungry...
Stella, the set meal that I had costs $55++, this is a 5-course meal (the choice of dishes were great, really worth the money and the servings substantial, I was stuffed), there was another 7-course on the menu that day which was around $70++. I didn't order any of the ala carte dishes but I think they start from around $10 - $15 on average. I would say that their style is a mix of traditional japanese with a fusion twist. I was impressed with the presentation, you might like it![]()
