Guess that the buffet items are cheaper than a la carte items. That's why items on the a la carte menu are better in quality compared with those on the buffet belt?

Which "a la carte" items do you like best? Any personal favourites? *curious*

Haha... Your review is the same as dovespaniel's. A la carte items are much better in quality than the buffet items at "Honjin" restaurant. Will take note.

Wow... "Ichiban Boshi" sounds really good! It scored well on all three criteria - costs, quality of service, and quality of food. Perfect! Will try it out one of these days.

Yes indeed kazu is one of the most popular japanese restaurant in singapore. The japanese restaurant at shangrila has the most awful food there. I was there once and i will never ever step into that place again. The fish has a stinking smell, the toufu soup is totally bland and tasteless. The chicken is too saltish..thinking of the food there makes me want to puke now.

    honjin is ala carte buffet
means you order and they serve to you
    not fetch the food yourselves
and yes, eat as much as you want
some of the premium items are separately charged though

love the thick slices of sashimi

quite a popular place. better make reservations.

You can try Irodori Japanese buffet at Riverview Hotel (opposite Furama) , it's really reasonable and the food is real good!! It's usually crowded on weekends so make sure you make a reservation. There's also Itacho at ION, Bugis Junction and PS and it is my personal favourite. Originating from HK, it serves quality Japanese food, you MUST try their roasted scallop sushi..... YUMMY.

    honjin is no longer around.

nara at maju ave (serangoon gardens) is pretty good.
bought deal vouchers for the lunch buffet but the staff like not very attentive to us. keep serving to those who order ala carte. sometimes forget our orders also.
went twice. and both occasions the same thing happened. so it's not kind of a one-off thing..

for the 2nd trip, i called to make reservations and was told it is full house.
i tried my luck again the following day and i could get a table!!!
when i reached there that day, the restaurant was EMPTY.

the ichiban boshi outlet which is located over at Suntec, serves really affordable and delicious japanese set meals, which I find it really worth while to pay a visit to, compared to the outlet over at Plaza Sing., which I do find it really troublesome to find available seats during peak hour.

My friend is a fan of Sakae Sushi so do I. I am influenced by her so sorry if Sakae Sushi is already been posted here. But I think it is really the best for me. My friend's member card sometimes we are using for payment because the points is getting higher and higher since we are like 3 to 4 times a week visiting this restaurant.
