Hi! I have a question abt the muffin pan. Is it ok to pour the mixture directly to the muffin pan or it should be pour into those small muffin paper 'cup'?

depends on whether it's the normal pans or the nonstick pans.
either way, it's probably a good idea to v lightly oil the bottoms of the pan
littlemiss, think it's alright to pour directly into the muffin pan. As long as you coat pan with oil first.

For teflon coated muffin pans (those that are dark brown in colour), I don't even bother to coat them with oil or butter. Just pour the batter into the pan. It will not stick so long as the muffin is thoroughly cooked![]()

i finally found a springform pan at Tangs!phoon huat's was out of stock. but the one at tangs only has one size - 9 3/4 inch! anywhere else has smaller pans? what's the smallest size? the 9 3/4 " one's too huge. and i desperately need it by tomorrow because i'm baking a cake for xmas!!

Try the B1 of Takashimaya dept store, near the KFC where all the kitchen ware/bakery items are. They have really nice small sized springform pans, either 6" or 8". Japanese made though, so they are more expensive, around $20 iirc.Originally posted by lysander
