Me & SO were at Taka on Sunday at 3 pm. We hadn't eaten anything for breakfast/lunch and when we passed by the place, my bf wanted to try it out coz it's his kind of place coz it's "meat meat meat". The poor me (3/4 vegetarian & 1/4 fish eater & 1/10 meat eater -> ya, maths don't tally but you get the idea ...) must go in and be nice gf to meat-eating bf.

Anyway, he ordered steak & I ordered the chicken & hamburger set. Both came up to $27.

His steak was a bit too overcooked coz by right, he should have put the meat on the veggies, which he didn't.

Mine on the other hand was HEAVENLY! And this is coming from a person who doesn't really like meat. I even let SO taste the chicken & the hamburger and he LOVED it. In fact, if Pepper Lunch had a burger meal with that hamburger patty - I would buy it.

Overall, it's a tad ex for a "fast food concept" but the food is delicious. Only gripe is towards the end of the meal, you'd tend notice how oily the whole meal is really.

So, can eat - but don't eat too often.

Now they give out tissue paper with discount coupons (valid till 30 sept) when you eat there.

I've only tried Pepper Beef rice and shimofuri pepper steak so far!
I wish i can try everything on the menu.. but i think it's kinda expensive.

I eat the beef rice and not bad, very fragrant with the butter. The only drawback is the the ventilation is not so good. I can smell the oiliness of the food on my clothes after eating.

I think I also ordered the Shimofuri (or the Loin steak) and it's so yummy. I just wish they had more bean sprouts.

I can see myself frequenting the place often. Too bad it's actually quite expensive. I spent almost $18 for my set. Not exactly cheap for fast food.

The food is simply heavenly.....will definitely see myself visiting that place more often....

Had the shimofuri set while friend had pepper beef rice.

Hopefully they will maintain the current standard 4-6 years down the road. I'm very sad that MOS burger's standard has dropped through the years.

Hmm...IMO it's not too meaty. It comes with a good serving of bean sprouts too! But the meat serving is slightly too big for me though.....just nice for my SO...you should try it! I find the meat very tasty

a.rhh.. i went to try just now as well. ordered double chicken and shared with my bf. wanted some bites as we had buffet earlier on.
serving was kinda huge, for me.

btw before i could step in, was kinda choke by the smoke and cough. guess ventilation wasn't that good.
anyhow, i still prefer express teppanyaki at foodcourt..

Vernis, maybe u should try the japanese western food on lever 4 at takashimaya, its free flow of vege & rice there, so I bet it will be enough haaaaaaaaaa IIRC its call TONKICHI maybe I spell wrongly hehehe

Tonkichi is good!! they have another branch at suntec basement. i used to go for my sunday dinner there with my family every week. shld try their Ebi Fry Bento / Rosu Katsu Bento.. yum yum!!!

hee... u gals make me go hungry again after my plate of fried beehoon. so much for your recommendation.

i have only went to the Suntec one twice, both times took 1 round only as got guests, too to ask for more.

we ordered a steak & a double ham combo, filling due to rice, not the meat. mamasan is a carnivor :booty:

hey vernis! gulity me also ordered e steak after i ate e hamburger combo, cos quite a small patty, plus with only a few 'tao gay' not full!

price abit on e hi side, also cant eat often, so just whack *console*:roll:

yeah, agree tokichi is nice too.. their pork cutlet are delicious. only when to scotts isetan branch. view there is nicer.. i mean window seats.

Tried Pepper Lunch at Taka today. I ordered the steak & hamburger combo, and my SO had the chicken & hamburger. The hamburger is really savoury and tasty, and the chicken was really juicy! My steak was a tad overcooked so I didn't enjoy it so much. I loved the huge serving of bean sprouts!

Not sure if we didn't cook our food thoroughly or if we had some unfresh pork for dinner, but SO and I are having the runs now.
