Antica Farmacista Terra

Was rather intrigued by the description of bourbon as I like L'Occitane's Bourbon Vanilla soap.

Smells like my insect repellent. The initial spritz is repulsive to me and I was choking and in awe with the bitterness of the top notes. The drydown is terribly musky, all musk. The only time that's nice is the vanilla that surfaces as a middle notes.

What a great scent to start my Monday, right?

I received Lolita Lempicka for Xmas pressie. Nice because I quite like this one though indecisive. Reason being: it's cloying sweetness but I do like that it smells like sweet tabacco smoke. (What's it call?? Name escapes me. The pottie thing you smoke at Arab Street)

I've always been intrigued by how licorice will smell in a perfume. My bf said I should just dunk myself in cough syrup but this is different. There's a tinge of bitterness. Drydown: Powdery.

Go easy on this one.

I certainly wouldn't buy one but the bottle is too cute. My bottle is enclosed in a matt golden cage. Nice.

I e-mailed 10CC in Milan some time ago, and sadly, the prices are no lower than in the US. Dunno about shipping though. I'm awfully tempted to order, even though I haven't even had a single sniff.

hey saresha, have you tried contacting meccacosmetica.com.au? They are retailing for AU$110 for 50 ml EDP. Not sure if it's cheaper (Aussie currency stronger now, ya?) Also not too sure about the shipping rates though.

Already checked them out, Rach. At the current exchange rate it works out to S$144 Not a good time to buy stuff from Australia! With the luckymag code, shipping came to nil when I ordered from Beautyhabit. (Yes, I just ordered! If I don't like it, I might just cry. Don't normally buy perfumes unsniffed. Plus my perfume budget for this month was earmarked for L’Eau du Navigateur.)

Hermes Eau d'Orange Verte

In the next few days, I plan to try some pure oils samples a kind vendor gave me today (see EOs thread). He also gave me a small packet of agarwood chips. (Like the stuff on http://www.magnifincense.com.)

After playing around with incense, I think I finally "know" agarwood (aka aloeswood, eaglewood, oud, chenxiang, gaharu, jin-koh). It's sweet (which explains a lot about M7), quite unlike sandalwood or cedar. It's also bloody expensive, especially the good stuff.
