Does anyone know how to tell which is the old and new version of Miss Dior Cherie Eau De Parfum?

I know the bottle is slightly different, but when you buy it, would the box be different? E.g. which manufacturing date would show it is the old one?

The new MDC with Natalie Portman in the international ads, doesn't smell as nice as the older version.

I would like to know this as well.

I have the old version which I love, and would ideally not want to accidentally buy the new version.

Hi, I called the LVMH in Singapore, they said that some older batches of the Eau de Parfum may be the new formula, even if it was produced in late 2010!

I went to a shop which opened up the box for me, the bottle was manufactured in Jan 2011. It turned out to be the new bottle, with the indented glass and the white sticker set into the glass.

I'm a little peeved. For customers who bought it this year before the new formula was launched in May 2011, they would be getting the new formula before the old. It is rather misleading for consumers who are not getting what they thought they paid for.

Madaddie, would you be buying in Sydney where you are now? Are the sales staff knowledgeable? Some of the sales staff insisted that the perfume is the same, no changes (which is annoying, since they do not seem to know their product well!).

I saw some MDC Eau De Parfum boxes, it was labelled as manufactured in Aug, Sept and Oct 2010 respectively. When I asked the LVMH staff again, she did not seem too willing to answer the question (that was my impression), and she said there is no way of telling, since the new and old formula may be produced in the same batch.

Yet she also said that you can tell the difference in the boxes, but she can't say what is the difference. Quite contradictory. Possibly there is a code on the box? Her suggestion was to ask the Dior counter staff to show the old and new boxes, and you can then see the difference. However, from what I saw from the old pictures, I can't seem to tell the difference in the boxes also.

    Could anyone enlighten please, thanks!

I would definitely not be buying it in-store, the perfumes here are scarily overpriced. I usually find them online or mebbe even on Strawberrynet which offers pretty good prices.

I just feel annoyed that they have been selling the new formula without even informing customers. Sigh, so not right.
