I bought this aquolina pink sugar from yahoo auction and the colour is yellow like pee yellow. Apparently this is the explanation given by the seller
I have discovered that Pink Sugar turns yellowish very fast. Every
bottle I have had (I have repurchased it four times) has turned yellow
two weeks after I take it out from its sealed container. I can only
attribute this to its vanilla component. Vanilla oxidises very quickly
and gives any predominantly vanilla fragrance a yellow/brown tint
after some time. This is why most vanilla fragrances like Burberry
Brit are tinted a light brown (or other colors - think blue in Anna
Sui Dreams and purple in Vera Wang Princess) by their manufacturers to
prevent any alarmed consumers from thinking the fragrances have
turned.
I can reassure you that the scent of the bottle of Pink Sugar I sold
to you hasn't changed at all. I made sure to test it before I listed
it for auction.
Is it true? I hope Im not ripped off or something
I'm not sure abt vanilla oxidising and changing the colour of the perfume, but I think I read somewhere that exposure to sunlight may cause the perfumes to change colour. Keep it fortoo long and it'll probably change too. HTHs!
My YSL babydoll is pink too, and it hasn't change colour.
I got it around 2 yrs ago btw.
Hths!![]()
but ysl doesnt have vanilla right? Mine didnt change too. The seller says she bought hers this year only. I just need confirmation that I've not been ripped off
erm....think perfumes do change colour but shouldn't be so fast right?
mine took about 2-3 year to change colour but scent is still strong![]()
yea. i had one that changed colour to yellow too. It was quite gross so I threw it out. Didnt like it much anyway.
They definitely turn yellowish, especially the clear coloured fragrances, after being kept for a period of time. I hear we've to keep them in cool temperatures, not too warm nor too cold, to prevent the colour from turning and for the scent to maintain it's authenticity.
My perfume colour changed, turned yellowish after a period of time too. But the scent is still quite the same.
My perfume turned yellowish already, must have kept for more than a year plus thats why. My favourite paul smith floral also smell so different now, sigh.....another bottle wasted.
