Hi,
I've been to all three open houses but I would like to know which of the three is better?
NUS seems to be more recognised and prestigious especially with the recent news that it's ranked 27th in the world. The arts faculty should be quite good as well right?
As for NTU and SMU, I'm not sure how their arts and social science programmes are.. Anybody taking them in these two schools?
I'm not keen on a hectic and eventful school life so school vibrancy and culture is not so much of a huge concern to me. In smaller schools, will there be more opportunities? What is actually the main difference between the three schools?
I'm interested in the exchange programmes that they have in the school. Only the top percentiles are eligible? Or do most students stand a chance?
Sorry for asking so many questions! Thanks (:

Like what nm1101_hl said, really depends on what you would want to take. And SMU only has Sosci courses, with psych, politics and sociology as the main majors.
NTU HSS is pretty new, so possibly not very established as compared to NUS'.
SMU has limited major choices.
I went for NUS FASS cos it's
1. Comparatively prestigious (in terms of general school ranking)
2. Established record
3. The mods are comparatively more extensive also
4. It's been my dream school, hehe.
Good luck!
during my time, there was only FASS in NUS
so i did not have much of a choice
but i did not regret my choice
im from ICM (now known as CNM) and CL
if you want to go on exchange easily then choose smu..
any student can go on exchange there provided you can afford it. not much grade requirements..
but let me warn you first..education in smu is taxing and tiring..but you may take it to be rewarding as well..
NUS all the way! Woohoo! :D
I'm a Political Science major in NUS and am graduating soon.
I went to Germany for a semester (exchange) and it's been pretty awesome.
The spaces available for exchange in NUS is first subject to CAP (means your grades, need at least a 3.0 to apply), then space availability. It also depends on the amount of students applying for that particular partner uni (demand vs supply). I'm not too sure but I also heard that the partner uni has a say in choosing which students they want to accept from NUS to go on exchange at their school.
But all in all, it's actually NOT hard to get a place for exchange. It just depends on where u want to go.
