Need more info on FASS Communication and New Media at NUS

Are there any Communications and New Media students from NUS FASS here?

How're the modules there? I have seen the list of modules, but those are just names and I am not sure what I will most likely be doing in the course. Are the list stated on http://www.fas.nus.edu.sg/cnm/modules_over...dules_undergrad the only required modules other that the usual breadth, gems and ss modules that I need to take to file for graduation? And all the modules listed there are considered core modules right? So if I intend to major in Media Design, I will need to take all the modules under the column right? Is the place very competitive and stressful too?

My concern is that the course may be too theoreotical and most modules are 100% exam based, which are mugging and memorising work. I hate to memorise textbooks aimlessly. It is too stupid to do this. I am more interested in the hands on stuff with design and the opportunities to explore interactive medias, especially in the form of public digital art installations and filming. Also, what are the prospects in this course?

And I had signed up this Cozycot account for the NM experience individual project, intending to learn more about Cozycot and participate in its activities. I am too quite interested to learn more about how to study for NM1101E and also in this project, especially when finals are so near. Hope you can share with me your experience on NM1101E so far and nice to meet you!=)

Hi CNM students!

I am in FASS taking NM this sem as well, and I would also like to know about the modules by area of interest if I were to major in CNM. I am particularly interested in the media studies but apparently there aren't many who had taken the media studies module. So I would like to know how different would taking media studies modules as compared to communications managment for instance? I am not really keen in being a jornalist and the sort; I am much more interested in learning about media.
