Has anybody previously study at SAA UOL Bsc in Business and graduate from there?
I would like to know more regarding about how do you get prepared for exam, do i need to buy any textbooks at all or that the study guides and lecturer's notes is enough, etc. Hope that someone can help me on some queries as i have seen the previous exam paper...it doesn't seem easy, where can i get the answer for the previous exam paper?
There are FOC introductory courses you can attend at SAA for the month of July. Be nice to the ladies at the counter and they will let you attend one free lesson before you join SAA. In this way, you can see for yourself if you like the facilities, the lecturer, teaching methodology and the quality of the notes.
I am attending the Intro to Accounting 3 this evening.
Are you sure that there are FOC introductory courses at SAA? How come they don't tell people that there are free introductory courses for students who are interested to join SAA? Is it only for part-time or full-time students?
I do think that their management is quite inconsistent though i have already join them due to their good reputation..... i have ask for some information before, they didn't give the right answer, compared to when i ask through email, a lecturer replied my email and gave me a totally different answer (which happens to be the right answer, so is the lecturer an admin staff or what, that happen to know better and more than an admin staff who is handling such things....) Might seriously reconsider them for the next year as they seem unprofessional in the things that they handle daily. One of the lecturer didn't reply email as well.![]()
oh. is the lecturer alan ng? last time when i emailed to them to enquiry, it's also him who replied me. haha. there's FOC introductory lesson, i attended it last year, I was told by the counter when I registered with them, it's offered to part timers & full timers. u can check out their website to know more about the introductory lesson.
SAA's library is very very small, but they have the required textbook for the relevant subjects. actually if u google "uol examiner report" u can find the past examiner reports (some sort of answers) and the past exam paper. by right during the lessons, the lecturers will print notes, questions & go through during the lessons. there will be tutorial questions to do & some of my classmates did submit their answers for the lecturers to mark & some did not. so far, i didnt buy any textbook.![]()
le_mon: They didn't tell me anything about the introductory courses at all when i register at their school. I didn't knew about it either as i am very new to the school and the UOL thing, do some research and that it seem to have very good reputation but no student mention anything about this introductory lesson.
I am being served by a young lady. She seem inexperienced and rushing me to sign the contract even though they are nowhere near closing time. When i want to read throughly of what i'm going to sign, she interrupt me and say that she will talk to me of the contract content after i finish signing but just briefly stated a few things when the contract has 20 pages.
Yeah that's him.... I find it weird how come a lecturer will answer normal enquiries by students, not regarding of lessons, exams or notes but more towards administrative matters. There are also some matters which he did not clarified clearly but only when i ask very throughly or very specific then he provide more. Through more emails with them, be it the lecturers or staff and what is been stated through their contract, which the enquiries i've asked are relevant, they are starting to give me the impression that they practice double standards too....seem like they are not living up to their reputation like they used to.
Are you still with SAA-GE? How is the studying experience like, lecturers, notes, etc?

ooh. last time i was served by this middle aged short hair lady wearing specs, she quite patient one. haha. i think they are expanding, so maybe employ new staff.
as for alan, he is a very very helpful lecturer, he will reply u if u email him any accounting related qns. as for those adminstrative qns maybe u can call them to clarify? hee, cause i seldom ask them any adminstrative qns stuff.
i think all institutes have its own pro & cons, they are not really that fantastic either. i heard from my frenz that fr & audit lecturer isn't so good, but for my foundation years i think overall quite ok.
i think studying experience have to depend on your group of frenz? my frenz quite hardworking, sometime will stay back revise a bit, submit ans let lecturers mark etc.
i think i saw the wearing spect lady but hmm...only after i have registered. She is quite careful and particular as she check this young lady who is serving me and that i haven't sign on one paper, she asked me to sign it. The young lady did check after i sign so....maybe she overlook.
The wrong answer i've got from them is when i call to clarify personally because i don't want to wait for the email but then who knows it's the wrong one and over the phone too by administrative staff (they do have fanciful name for the position stated in the handbook haha)....hence i decide to make sure again by sending emails a few weeks later. That email was answer by the lecturer mention and he gave me the right answer....
I will be going back to my previous institute since i know there will be someone familiar there when i start school...hopefully still in time for everything. Thanks for the clarification.![]()
