Yup its quite easy to pass, the passing rate is 90 over percent! If you just go through the material once (they will give you a file) it should be fine.

Does anyone know if one can self-study for the CPA? If so, where can I get the textbooks & mock exam papers, if any???

realllyyy??? I am in dilemma~~a degree holder~~considering between taking ACCA or ICPAS PE as a route to become CPA members...As I know, ACCA is quite tough but I m not sure about ICPAS PE...is it really easy to PASS compare to ACCA?? I need a fast route Please share ur experience / knowledge!!! Thanks!!

i have a business degree and am also considering whether i should take the acca to become a cpa.

bubbl3: correct me if i'm wrong, to become cpa via icpas pe, u must have a recognised accountancy degree right? so ur degree is acct is it?

Yah, I've a degree in accountancy from UK. CPA only recognised degree from SMU/NTU, so for degree holders from other universities have to take ICPAS-PE (Professional Examination) which consists of 5 modules, before allowed to attend 5 days ICPAS workshop to become a CPA member.

It is not necessary that only degree in accountancy can take ICPAS-PE but other degree which major in accounting also can such as: Degree in Commerce / Business with a major in accounting.

Anyone know more about ICPAS PE?? About the passing rate compare ACCA.....

ICPAS Professional Examination (PE) consists of 5 modules. This is the final leap for accountancy graduates to be a professional in the esteemed accounting profession. Completion of this professional examination, along with the other requirements (i.e. relevant working experience), would give them a pathway to be Certified or Chartered Accountants, not just with ICPAS, but with the various accounting bodies that ICPAS has Mutually Recognition Agreement (MRA) with as well.
