haha. me too. mine is very lousy. doubt i can get into any govt uni.
Taking that i do not get into NTU BSc(edu), can i enrol in NIE, myself or though MOE? or does those two go together?
erm... of cos you must be able to get into NTU BSc(Ed) to be able to enter the course in NIE... unless you are thinking of being a contract teacher which does not require you to go into NIE for any course...
I am a Malaysian with the following educational history: 'O' levels in Singapore, some pre-university studies (A level alternative) from a malaysian college, a bachelor's and masters degree from a University in Canada. I have also done part time teaching (for university students) in Canada, and some private tutoring.
Currently i'm living in Europe but would like to return to Singapore to work as a teacher.
Applied to NIE 15th September... did not hear from them for a while. Called then up on October 12th to check if everything's OK. They revealed that on 21st September they sent me an email asking me to send my results/transcripts to MOE... they wanted information all the way from O levels to my masters... so apparently I did not get that email. (I have no idea why. Wasn't in my junk/spam email folder either) Only then did they resend the email to me, on Oct 12th... *sweat*
Anyways sent all the requested result slips/documents to MOE as they asked. I asked them to provide confirmation if they received the documents. They did not confirm, so I had to call them up (Oct 15th) to check if all my result slips/degrees were received. *double sweat* The lady who picked up the phone was nice but appeared confused and when she asked me to wait 'while she checks my profile', I heard her repeatedly yelling in the background at someone else (in chinese) to see if my results slips were there... *faints*
Has anyone experienced something similar to me?
Other questions I've got:
1) Has anyone been asked to send their exam results to MOE? I was kind of puzzled that they asked for O levels since i did it in Singapore (in the application form, i ticked the box that granted them permission to dig up my old information in the system)
2) How will NIE contact you if they want you to come in for an interview? When I browsed this form it seems that most Singaporeans living in Singapore will receive an sms. Any idea how those living abroad will be contacted??? Also sms, or email, or letter? (Yes, I am willing to go to Singapore for the interview if they ask)
3) Has anyone ever come across any foreigners doing teacher training at NIE?
sorry, wasn't sure if i was supposed to post the NIE-related questions here. (First time flowerpod user) Sorry if post was at inappropriate place.
I Have a foreign friend who studies in NIE. I think u should read up the website. It has alot of details covered.
