Register for it online at www.mba.com

There is no need to go to classes if you're good at self-studying. Can probably just get the GMAT books from Kinokuniya or something. I like the GMAT Official Review books, and the MGMAT guides (especially Sentence Correction). But I think the GMAT Official Review books are quite useless if you're targeting to get a >700 score. They are okay if you were originally a 500-score kind of person and wanted to improve to 600 plus.

There is only 1 test center in Singapore. And just a word of caution - you have to present your passport as id to take the test. My passport expired and they refused to let me take the test. So I wasted USD250. Its like they think themselves to be ICA or something. Anyway, this is just to caution you that the GMAT people are very anal and robotic. If my school did not set the GMAT requirement, I would so have taken the GRE instead.

i actually have soft copy of the McGraw-Hill's GMAT study guide. comes with 6 practice tests. all in all is about 500++ pages if i remembered correctly. it's the 2008 series, but i guess it's not much of a difference from the 2009. costs about 70+ dollars in popular bookstore. i can send it to you if anyone needs it. quite useful i find.

    just PM me.

    good luck gals

I'm also thinking about taking GMAT but not disciplined enough to study on my own... If any of you are forming study group, please let me know!
