I'm in somewhat of a diliemma now. I'm an economics major, but I have an offer for a HR internship in a bank. I'm not sure whether to take it up just becuse it's an internship, because the scope seems different from what I'm studying. On the other hand, it's the only offer I have so far. Any advise for me?

For my school (TP), we have these options:
1) secure ur own internship - meaning research ur own company, then company might interview you, then if you get the placement at the company, u fill up a form from the school and get the school approval. because they dont want your close relatives to be your supervisor or something and see if the company is right for you..

2) school give a list of internships, then we are given like 4 options with preference ranking.. and if u get any of your choice, you will be called to be informed or to go to the interview (some companies do this).

3) if you didnt get any of your choice, they will randomly pick a company for you.

4) also, if the lecturers at TP know you really well (like what subjects you are good at), they will recommend you to the company that is specifically looking certain areas of expertise..

For me, i secured my own internship at my dad's workplace. but my lecturer had to be assured that i m not working under my dad or even in the same dept. so phew, i got into the business analyst / IT dept while his dept is soo not related.

hello!

i just finsihed my a levels and have a long holiday before entrance to uni. I'm thinking of pursuing a degree in mass comm in NTU, and would like to get an internship in some advertising/magazine company.

was wondering if they actually hire a level students for internships? or do they only want undergrads? also, anyone can let me know how i can write in for an internship? tried to search online but i'm not too sure who I'm supposed to contact!
