Anyone is working at Outward Bound Singapore as a camp instructor? i am gradyating next year from polytechnic and i love camps alot..therefore hope can find a job thyere..or any one working as camp instructor at jalan bahtera or any camp leading companies?

I was interested to become as an OBS instructor before but the dream never materalised. I do know that when you apply, you also have to plan a 3 days 2 nights camp for a group. This will be your written test.

Then there will be an interview, questions will be asked like: "why did you include this activity?" and "if you have an asthma student in your group, what you should do?" There will be a 21-days instructor course. If i am not wrong, there will be a few days where you have to camp alone.

Oh... you will have to run a lot.... and i mean a lot.... lol!

Salary wise, i think you can expect $2.5k and above. Correct me if i am wrong.

ic..i think i will be able to handle as i was previously an active camp leader in my secondary school..we do a lot of planning for our school camps too.. as for how to handle the asthma student i think i can handle as i was once a st john member..thanks for all the important information!!

I know two prominent companies in Singapore who organise camps for pri, sec schools and even corporate clients. You can PM me for contact details but since I am not really in their companies I won't be able to provide you with salary or jobscope. Cheers.

My bf is a OBS instructor now, when he first joined, he went for a freaking 21 days camp! STAY IN! I almost cried but no choice, he is interested in it. Went he first started he will be having prohabitation for 3 months, his salary is only $1plus.. after 3 months, he got 2plus! that is if you can stay on...

They really test ur mental and physical... Sometimes, I cant even meet him because he have his camp on...

I'm curious, how come the starting salary so low, I referred to the website, it says $2,440 for degree holders and $1,800 for diploma holders. Has he finished his 3 year contract by the way? =)
