Adel: In case u need any textbooks, please let me know. I wanna sell them.
was in OCU last dec. it was freaking cold and i slept in class most of the time. hahah!! and my class got the worst deals of the lot. we've had like 3 modules. and in every module, my class was expected to do the most work. but the production class was absolutely fantastic!!
did you stay in the school? or other places? how much did you spend in total? herad that the food is expensive is that so? and heard that they will bring you to factory outlets to buy stuff? mm...tell me more! i am so excited to go OCU..btw the module values and culture sucks!Originally Posted by green_tea
yeah.. i got a D for my values and Culture. i hardly get D's. damn.
anyway. yeah. we stayed at this Marriott Residence Inn (hotel). and every morning the school has a school bus that will fetch you to and fro from the Marriott Hotel to the school. it was fun with your coursemates livin nearby. we were partying and drinking in other people's room most of the time. lol. well.. basically it was because we were there during x'mas.
i cant remember how much i spent exactly. however, excluding accomodation and stuff, i remember i prepared abt $3-4k. (oh i tour around after the school term) still have some left though.
you cant expect to eat out everyday. what we did was we brought instant noodles over which we usually cook for dinner. and also bring microwavable food (we buy from the supermarket there) to school for lunch. really saves us a lot. there's microwave oven in the school and stuff. we eat out only occassionally.
and yes. be prepared to spend in the factory outlets. its shopping most of the time after school lessons. we dont even have enough time to finish shopping. hahahaa... and we always return to our rooms late. around 8-9? our days are usually quite packed with programs they prepare for us. even weekends. so dont worry about not having anything to do when you're over there. hee
when are you heading over?? it'll be fun i tell.
Oh and i forgot to mention. the school even arranged clubbing session on one weekend for us too. it's called Citywalk if i remember correctly. and it's fun!! heehee.. you can go there on own with ur friends on friday nights if u have nothing else to do.
oh and dont forget to try Krispy Creme donuts. the school will bring you there. fresh from the oven. hot and YUMMY!!! time will pass by really quickly and you would wish that you could stay longer.
have some friends whom study at the school![]()
though not to comment , but think u can consider other schools options..
xiaoqi, do you mean MDIS is not good?
Thanks alot! i shld be heading there in march next year.. i am all excited already, my classmates were planning to rent a house with many rooms so that we can all leave together.. your accomodation was found by yourself or school recommended? And how much was your total accomodation?Originally Posted by green_tea

the accomodation was provided by the school. you would be required to stay at this place where the school arranges for you to stay. there's like a studio room that can take up to 2-4 people or the penthouse 4-6 people. the penthouse is really cool. 2 levels. but i dont know if they might change the accomodation. for that i think we paid about $1k plus each for 3 weeks of stay ( not very sure. cannot remember already)
ya.. if you want to spend comfortably $3-4k for shopping and food only. I had more than enough then didn't have to worry not having enough.
I booked my tickets with chan brother. went with United airlines or was it airways. pai seh poor memory.
We stopped over at new york first before going to Oklahoma. then after oklahoma we went to Vegas for Countdown. it was fabulous. unforgettable man. totally different!!! i miss it.
ok then we headed for LA and San Frans.
hmmm... when you say other private courses do you mean those offered by MDIS? i wouldn't say that MDIS is very good but I did enjoy my time there. are you doing ur advance diploma first? because i did mine incorporated. it's the same. no difference at all. although they say one way costs more than the other, it's basically the same lecturers and same modules covered. so if you are doing your degree later, it will be rather slack for you. because it's like one month have lesson.. few months later may not have. most of the free time just do project and prepare for exam. it really depends on you. depends on your priority.Originally Posted by D3stiny
Too late haha. Have already started with MDIS. For me, a big part of choosing MDIS is due to location. My office is just a mere 5 minute walk away, so it's easier for me to go to class. No point signing up elsewhere and missing classes cos it's too far away.Originally Posted by xiaoqi

Hi thanks so much for all your advices...Originally Posted by green_tea
I'm in fact contemplating whether to enter MDIS mass comm or just head right to the States to study. My dad definitely doesn't like the idea of me studying in prvate schools but studying overseas is a hell lot of money...
Is it true that the in-campus at Oklahoma makes finding jobs easier?
You have no problem getting a job after you graduated right?
