Hihi,
So far I didn't experience any major problems with MDIS, other than receiving different timetables. Attended one class that I wasn't supposed to - Ended up with me being sosince the students thought I was new and keep looking at my different textbook. I left during the lecture break. Luckily I didn't miss my other lesson, else I'll be writing a long letter of complaint to their Student Services.
Thanks for the reply Kelly!Originally Posted by Kelly
What course did you do at MDIS? How do you find the lecturers & the way the course is taught?
Sorry for bombarding you with questions!![]()
Hi popmycherry,
You are most welcome. I am attending a Business Administration Course. Can't say much now as I've only started a month ago and have only attended 2 lectures taught by 2 lecturers. I have to compliment one lecturer, who teaches Business Management. Though he may be fast at times, he can teach well, using appropriate examples to enhance your understanding. He does not read from the text book or from hoes presented slides - which I what I feel a lousy lecturer does. He also encourages us to send him emails on anything we do not understand during his lectures. I have, so far, sent him 2 queries and he has prompt replied to both of them, providing me details along with his answer. If this is not good enough, almost every week, each of hi students would receive an email from him with links to websites that he said we can read up for more information and references that would be helpful to our module & assignments. I think he's great.
The other lecturer however, the one I attended the wrong class, looks like a "ah-beng" hand phone shop owner, doesn't really speak fluently and crack up some cold jokes and lame examples, which made me fail to relate with the topic. Seriously left that lecture pretty much confused but as I saw that not many people were copying notes from his slides, I believe most of it are from the text.
So there you go. Hope this info helps.

i took the mass comm degree from OCU at MDIS, great experience, loved all the American lecturers, their style of teaching is lively and engaging, the on-campus graduation was a memorable experience as well, thumbs up! very recognised too, found employment easily upon graduation![]()
me too!! was from OCU, Mass Comm degree. went there only last dec.
please let me know if anyone needs 2nd hand textbooks. i'm selling those mass comm. text.books
but i forgot to mention, eversince they changed our co-ordinator from Martini to this Shanti person, things are extremely inefficient.
Martini was a very good course co-ordinator. she did her best to attend to our academic needs and makes effort to help us co-ordinator classes should we be unable to attend our regular class. whereas Shanti is not as dedicated to her job. information on school timetables comes very late and she did not have the courtesy to update us that our class has been postponed. i'm glad that i'm graduating soon.
stellazeex,
good good. if u need any textbooks just let me know. i could sell it to you at a 2nd-hand rate
green_tea, I going for June intake!![]()
Cool!
Do remember to inform me if you should any textbooks. *wink*
currently a student in the advanced diploma in mass comms incorporating the degree..it is an intensive course which you take 2 years to complete.
now in the degree course..sucky man..hate the module values and culture..its more to philosophy and i have no idea why we need it in this course.
classes last for only 9 days, thereafter i have a 1 month study break for exams..really long break..but the module Behavior Science is good...
how was OCU? did you get your own accomodation? around how much did you spend there excluding air tix?
