i think it's easier to make friends if you are from the RMIT prog cos there are group projects to do so you are force to mix around, even if you are anti social or shy. Whereas for UOL, you have to make an effort to make friends cos it's all individual work since it's examination based. So you'll have to be "more thick skin" & make the 1st move

As for study loan, i tik it's best you call up the banks to enquire. Most banks have 24 hours hotline so you can call each of them to find out more. It's best to call a few banks so that you can compare & decide which one is better

Elita: When i took up the RMIT degree, i checked with banks and SIM and only HSBC would offer me a loan. The other banks would only give study loans to local schools (ie, NUS, NTU or SMU) not private schools. I didn't take up the loan in the end cos if i remember correctly, the interest rate was kind of high. Not too sure about the situation now, but that was what i experienced. But as emmababy suggested, check with SIM and the banks for more details.

I checked with them. Fees are around 20k, if u have a 1 year exemption .. a full couse will be near to 30k, excluding textbooks, exams fees, trip to aussie etc.

my course fee was abt $28k, but after the 5% GST it was abt $30+k if im not wrong. RMIT courses there are no exams fees, only for UOL courses. Textbks wise, your seniors will always be selling 2nd hand textbooks for abt $15 or you can always borrow from the library. Trip to mel, the time i went, we spent abt S$500 on accomodation (shared apartment with 4 friends), air tix was abt S$800+ (i took sq, emirates or malaysia airlines wld be cheaper) and if you dont intend to do much shopping or touring, you'll only need about 2k total?

Seems like RMIT is more expensive compared to UOL.

emmababy: if you look at the course fees alone, yea RMIT is more expensive, but for UOL you've gotta remember to add n the exams fees. Not too sure how much it is per subj tho.

xiaoyun: trip to mel was quite fun, but didnt have any time to make more side trips. lessons were basically mon - sat, fr 9 to 5 for 2 weeks, so it was wake up ->sch -> sleep had to make some presentations too. But overall it was fun, weather was great too!

I think the fees of $20k that was quoted by SIM covers the UOL exam fees as well

i got frends who are studyin UOL degree in SIM, she is full time student but only come to sch 3times per week either in the morning or afternoon for just 3 hours per day. I am currently studying the diploma in management studies in SIM and i also study 3 hours daily. The cost for my dipolma is about 8k+ and if we wanted to continue to study degree, we only need to study 2years for OUL and one and a half year for RMIT. Most of my classmates can go straight degree instead of going diploma.

    Default UOL fees

Only need to go school maximum 4 days a week and 3 hours per day. Some people only go 3 days because they have 2 lectures in one day.

School fees per semester (6 months) is about SGD$5000 and exam fees about SGD$2000 (SGD$480+ per unit) for UOL students. 1st year UOL students need to pay about 200+ pounds to UOL, and 100 over pounds in the 2nd and 3rd year (if I remember correctly). Every semester before exam have to pay SGD$200 for revision classes by overseas lecturer.

Urmm, I think it's all. And oh, SIM membership is $31.50 per year

I think RMIT would be cheaper overall. UOL everything have to pay in pounds. Even revision classes have to pay

i think RMIT is still more expensive compared to UOL because UOL is around $20k for 3 years. RMIT is about $30k right? This excludes the Aussie trip. Maybe u can ask the course coordinator if cost is a concern to you
