Anyone taken or taking beauty courses at any of the beauty schools, eg. Cosmo or Kimbeauty?
Any advices for someone aspiring to be a beautician? I am taking a risk to switch from accounting to beauty.
wow i admire you...im in accounting line too...thou' jobless now..hopefully i can set up a biz soon..
you sure you want to be beautician? i ever thought of being hairstylist..then after that..haizz..was too busy to go for the course..think govt do subside for some courses..
littletwinstar!!! i think we are same. or should i say, i AM going to be same like you! i'm very interested in beauty courses..facial etc etc. i hope next time i can open up a salon! and now, to earn more money, i am going into accountancy. hhahah...maybe 10 yrs down the road after i earn enough money, i might switch careers like you do now!
OT: those in acct are all twinstarss haha there's twinstar and littletwinstar now
btw, littletwinstar, how old are you now? just curious? and why the switch?
Actually I'm not sure if I am to be admired or not cos I dun even know yet whether I can succeed in this line. Having been in the accounting line for all my life, I have never stepped out of the office. This is a drastic change for me and although I have been told several times this is a lucrative line as in women are caring more and more about their looks. But there is still this worry that I may not do well as this is really very new to me.Originally Posted by cheria
But thanks your words encouraged me.
My initial dream is to be a hairstylist but I feel that in the beauty line the business is more lucrative. I'm not sure where and how to qualify for the subsidies though.
you're doing it due to the lucrative-ness, not interest? heh. Come cozycot and read up more! i'm sure you'll learn lots here. and read up from websites/books
I'm not sure if accountancy can earn big bucks cos I am still a very poor girl  But good luck to you!Originally Posted by cUp

I just dun want to wait until I'm past my 30s then suddenly wake up one day and scold myself for not pursuing my dreams & interests.

Hi LittleTwinStars,
My beautician graduated from Top to Toes and she commented that its one of the school that will teach you more and additional stuff which the theory doesn't cover. Its a reputable school which is also the first to bring in the cidesco (international beauty cert. i think) diploma cert. Maybe you can check it out and compare before you make a decision. From what i heard, the course fee are not cheap.![]()

Hi with SDF and SRP funding for many of the programs, is it the norm for employers to hire you and then send you for the course or do pple get the qualifications first before joining the industry?
Anyone attending any beautician course? From where? How much?
