Recommendations: Studio for Convocation/graduation photograph sessions

I went to the Serangoon Broadway for mine. This studio does everybody who graduated from SIM. So they are very experienced. They have lots of gowns etc etc... in the studio for the picture taking!

i just collected gown from them yesterday..

but looking at the broucher and also at the quality of the pics they took for my pal.. i would prefer to find other studios..

also heard from my friend that the camera they use to take is the old fashion flim kind.. so i guess that isnt a pulling factor either..

Hi, I am also going to take my convocation photos this year and I have read on alot of forums that Gloria Studio is good. But not sure how true is it? Is there any bad feedbacks about them? I am also considering Modern Art Studio at Bedok Central, pic looks very good also, and much cheaper. They are charging $450 for 24R family photo and give 14R individual photo (all canvas texture and frame). The photographer has also won a Fuji and Kodak bride of the year award. Not sure which to take. Has anyone heard of Modern Art Studio at Bedok central? How is the result like?

anyway, i was wondering if theres any gd + cheap studios for family/grad pictures packages??? i've been once years ago to suntec with my family (forgotten the name of the studio le) but it was pretty pricey..

Just went for graduation photo shooting yesterday at Werkz Photography, would like to share my experience
I had asked few photography and bridal shop for the quote of package and price before that:

1) New Image Collection (IMM)
- My colleague recommend this bridal shop to me, the best quote I found, package of less than $300 include 10R canvas frame for family portrait and 8R normal frame for graduand, free digital copy for the 2 photo u choose. One free make up + hairdo.

2) Werkz Photography
- Basic package of $200 include a 8R size canvas frame for family portrait, a smaller one (I not sure what is the dimension) for single in a booklet (Not frame), no softcopy will be given, cannot buy also. No make up, no hairdo. This shop is the official photography for NUS.

I had paid deposit with the New Image Collection but I end up went to Werkz because my family cannot match the time slot given by New Image although the ppl there have been helping me to adjust the time

The whole experience in Werkz is consider gd, the photographer is nice and fun, he will try to make u laugh and smile happily, another uncle will help with your clothing and pose all the time, the photo can be viewed immediately. Can see that they are really experienced and professional.
However I found the package not so worth it compare to the New Image Collection, I have to do the make up by myself, only one small 8R photo come with frame..., the photo for graduand is only the booklet style, not even frame, and smaller than 8R....they want to charge me $420 extra if I want a 10R size for my family portrait!
And one of their strategy is that they will shoot one extra series for u other than the family and single series. Unless u can dispose that extra series otherwise u need to pay extra to get that series. I paid extra $180 for a min size of table top in order to get that series, else they won't give u any of the photo in that series! That is the point that make me feel unsatisfy with their service, they make me pay more than my budget, and I felt like being cheated. No softcopy will be given and cannot buy also...
But gd thing is the outcome is good, all of my family member look gd and happy. Overall I still dun quite like the service because of the strategy they used to make u pay more, so be very very careful if u go for studio photo shooting, dun take the extra shoot if you dun have extra budget.

It was the prefect studio my family needed, cause my bro graduated from an australian university some years back. and this studio had the all the various gowns from local and overseas universities. they provided all 4 gowns my family needed, very professional and had experience dealing with my young nieces and nephews who cant sit still during the shot. perfect place if you are looking for quality shoot with experienced photographer.

Review on Serangoon Broadway:

The customer service at Serangoon Broadway is really bad. The sales person were more into hardselling their packages instead of explaining the packages in detail when you go over to collect the robes.

Upon reviewing the photographs to blow up, I realise one of the photos had a long scratch on it. I requested for another print out for that photo and the customer service person said that it was a sample given by their studio out of goodwill and they do not provide extra copies to the customers. The after service of Serangoon Broadway was indeed very bad because the scratch was done by the studio and the photos was bundled together in the package. The customers have absolutely no say in the final results of the photos because the full amount is made to the studio before choosing the photos.

Anyone can feedback on Gloriaphotostudio? from the website comparison, they are very good at portraiture photography, i must say their art work are the best so far, any comments pls? i am graduating soon and the uncle offer me a $25 cash for gown rental..and no other catch as well so meaning i will not need to spend a single cent for gown, their package are also very competitive and attractive. Opinion pls, thank you.
