Studying in Brisbane

I am going to QUT this july for 2 years. anyone is still in brisbane or going there to study too?

i have so many questions to ask!

1) How to you girls find apartment? AS i am staying my sem in july, will only be able to head over late june,early july.

do i go straight to the agent or should i look out on the web?

2) anyone have experience in buying car in brisbane?

3) anyone knows any salon that has cheap and good manicure,pedicure service? need to get my nails trimmed every 2 weeks! =(

4) Any hair salon good and cheap for guys? As my bf needs to cut his hair unlike mine which i can wait till holiday when we come home.

5)Which company provides cheap air freight to brisbane and from brisbane back to singapore?

Hey babe! I'm currently studying at QUT hehe what are you studying?

1) I suggest you making plans for a temporary accommodation like in a serviced apartment or backpacker's hostel for about a week or so. I found my place within a week. Before coming over, I looked up several places on realestate.com.au and make appointments for viewing online, taking down the contact details of the agent/tenant before flying over. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT confirm or pay up for a place you see online because there are online frauds tricking overseas students.

2) speaking of buying of cars, my cousin and sister are off to a car auction today. I'll let you know how things turn out

3) i haven't quite explored manicure/pedicure places but they are aplenty in the city. i think it would be quite worth it if you can find somewhere that teaches you those skills in nail grooming and you'll save quite a bit by doing it yourself. I have a flatmate who paints my nails for me =P

4) I have many friends who go to Koogi in the city, it's a Korean hair salon so I suppose they should be quite good since most of my friends go there for a haircut. Haircut for ladies are $28, guys.. maybe cheaper? not too sure about that.

5) not much help here cuz i got friends to bring stuff over for me =X but in my opinion, what you really need would be an extra set of skincare products because you wouldn't know if the stuff you are currently using is available in aussie.
