I seldom buy stuff from usa.. because the sellers usually ships via UPS or Fedex to countries outside usa. Last year, I bought like 5 pcs of cotton/satin clothings from a usa base shopping cart. I remember I selecting USPS as the shipping courier which cost 70+ as stated.. but when the order is process, they change from USPS to UPS themself and UPS cost 150+ which is 2x + They just carry on to charge my CC without notifying me the changes.

I email them regarding the matter and they just stat that they chose UPS for me because it only take 2-3 days to reach me while USPS require 7-10 days.. so I paid 150+usd shipping charges just to buy 5pcs of clothings. Recalling that incident makes me

Vpost seems expensive. Any cheaper alternatives?

I have used all the local ones before. Tarazz, Vpost, Borderlinx, CGW.

Tarazz: new, very unique concept. Their service is good and really convenient as it's 1 shopping cart for all the US online stores. In fact it's more like an all-in-one portal. Need to have more reviews from others to judge.

Vpost: I've had one very bad experience with them. Other than that they are generally fine, but slow. Package that's arrived in SG already can take 2 days to deliver to my house.

Borderlinx: Needs Citibank credit card. I've only tried them once though and they were ok. I've seen reviews ranging from very good to terrible.

CGW: Got tons of lambasting in the past due to their many mistakes and poor service. They actually shipped my item to someone else before. However they seem to have improved ever since they switched to DHL...only used once since the change in forwarder.

I actually use a shipping service from a blog. I have shipped quite a few times with them, and I'm happy with their service and price!

I haven't used any other except VPost. If you ask me to rate them from 1 (bad) to 10 (good), I'll rate 3/10. I had a very bad experience with VPost. The only good thing was that they got a promotion last time for first timer.
