    Yeah ..it's illegal.
But it's available in our neighbouring country Malaysia! Bought before in both watson's and guardian there!

I've been thinking of getting one too! I run a rather ulu route early in the morn and want to carry one just in case.

Any suggestions for alternatives to pepper spray?

Pepper spray is illegal to own, it's definately gonna be illegal to use So unless u want to just keep it in your bag as a deterrent, no point getting it. You'll get in trouble if it's found in your posession.

A good (and legal!) alternative to pepper spray is hair spray. Get the handbag sized ones at Watson's (Gatsby) for only $3+

I got a crazy idea... DIY.

Just make ya own chili spray.
Water... Hot Tobasco sauce, chili flakes and any other hot substances ... Nasty!
Spray bottles easily available from watsons.
Don't know about legal implications though. Opppsss...

Maybe you might like to add in permanent ink such that when its sprayed on the robber/attacker or anyone, he wont be able to clean off the ink and can be easily caught by the police. Usually pepper sprays contain this sort of dye.
