My encounter is not really a scam; more of a dishonest spree organiser. I find it necessary for me to share this here because I discovered that she had advertised on Cozycot as well.
I had previously piggybacked on my friend's order through this spree organiser, Clare of Clare Collections (website: Clarecollections) and was quite satisfied with the items. Since there were new items on OKBA's website, I tried to order OKBA accessories through Clare again on my own. As I noticed that OKBA website was having a 5% sale off all items when I added the items to cart and it also happened that I came across another spree organiser who also stated that OKBA is having 5% off all items, I enquired with Clare if she was aware that OKBA has a 5% sale going on.
She replied me saying that the 5% sale is "not applicable to overseas orders" and insisted that OKBA bills her the actual amount stated on the website. Unconvinced, I asked her to check with OKBA which she (almost immediately) replied saying that she has checked with OKBA and they have confirmed that the 5% discount is not applicable.
I then asked her to produce her email correspondence with OKBA which she refused. I then relented, informing her that I will join her spree, on the condition that she will show me the receipt upon delivery of the items (as I had placed an order worth more than $150). Again, she refused and even kept using the "Terms and Conditions" as her point of defense. A point to note is that it was not stated anywhere in her "Terms and Conditions" that spree-ers are not allowed to ask her to show the receipts and correspondences with the supplier. She even went to the extent of saying the following:
It appears very dodgy to me. If she was really honest with what she said, why was she so defensive? She could easily produce the evidence to prove me wrong instead of going to this extent of berating me. I am totally fine with spree organisers profiteering from sprees (for the work that they have done). But at least have the integrity to admit it instead of taking it on the sly by lumping it together with the so-called "supplier imposed charges".All of our other customers join our spree based on trust and so far we are quite confident that we have served them well because we have a pool of regular customers. Different spree organizers may conduct their sprees differently, do you need them to disclose every single details? Why not you go and query the other spree organizer to show you their email correspondences with OKBA and receipt from OKBA?
We have stated clearly our exchange rate, shipping cost and formula for calculating the item cost. Please join our spree only if you are comfortable with our T&C.
Regards,
Clare

In the end, I bought with this other very honest spree organiser who not only shared with us that the supplier has a 5% discount off all items and that after this spree, her membership status will be upgraded and she'll get 10% discount for all future purchases. Most importantly, the items are received are in perfect condition. In fact, I find that the quality is even better than that ordered from Clare.
