Personal Make Up Class (recommendations pls!)

I have booked for a Personal coaching Makeup class with Makeup stylist Joie Leong. Through other friends who have gone to her , very good reviews. Seems she is very willing to teach about everything , even like MUA's secret tips. I will go this Friday afternoon and come back to review if she is good or not.Hope is all good

As promised I am back for review! I really had a great time today at Joie's Personal class. She takes time to ask me what I know already and what I would want to achieve at the class.
I am going out now with the makeup I put on during the class. Will share more another time as I am rushing out, just came in here to share my Happiness today!

OK back to complete my post from yesterday!
Will share my experience ( as much as I can remember) step by step.

It is stated class is only 2hours for personal coaching, but because we were chatting like friends ended up I finished my class in 3 hours! Evem them Joie kept asking me if I still had anymore questions to clarify before I left?

So started out asking me what my lifestyle is like, what kind of makeup and dressing I prefer. We talked about my skincare and she analyse my skintype to correctly address the issue of my dry outer skin with breakouts! Like looking at my skin she knows I have this problem.

Then narrow down to what I want to to learn for the class. I know some basics on foundation application and eyeliner techiniques, I think I had a lot to learn!

So step by step she show me application of foundation , concealer , powder which she will show on half of my face, then I have to show her how I do it on the other half. Quite funny because when she did it looks so easy, but I created quite a bit of mess.

Eyes- she taught me how to do like a tilt for eyeliner. I don't know how to describe but the tilt makes my eyes look bigger. But the tilt is not like very dramatic. This one was a challenge because have to balance out the both tilts on both eyes. Joie said I must practise and practise to get it correct.

We talked about so many things I really need to go back to referring to the notes she gave me and those I have written down. Cannot remember all now. I am thinking of going for refresher class next month!

Ok, my challenge today is to try to copy that tilted eyeliner as I am going for a friend's hen's night party. FINGERS CROSSED!!!
** I bought a set of professional travel set brushes from Joie and really a steal. But I have not had time to go buy the eyeshadow colours she recommended me, so have to stick to eyeliner today and whatever balance eyeshadow I have now for tonight)

Hi everyone..
I'm planning to hold some personal make up class in conjuntion with the Xmas and upcoming festivals everyone to glam up their own look at home.
I'm already in the midst of discussing with the CC in holding these classes..
So would like to know what is the kind of topics and things you girls would be interested to learn from if let say there is such classes...
Do give me some suggestions so I can make my classes interesting and relavant to the students in class.

Some of the topics I'm thinking to cover at the moment..
- How to do a flawless foundation.
- Concealing dark eyerings / pimples/ scar
- Face shaping
- A perfect eyebrow
- Smokey eyes
- How to draw eyeliner
- How to fix a fake eyelash
- How to make the lipstick stay for a longer time.

Can I suggest to include blusher application techniques for different face shape.

Hi sorry for late reply.

I took the most basic 1 day class with Joie at only $180 2 hours. As I have some basic make up knowledge I thought I will be a genius at learning the tricks very quickly There is another one which I should have sign up is 2 days more detailed one. I remember $200++ only. Joie already mention the 2 day one is definitely more worthy , should have listened to her.

So means now I might want to go back to do a refresher class as I want to practise the liquid liner and more smoky eye look

Highly recommend her , efficient, patient and sincere. She replies my emails very promptly!

Hi, today i attended a personal make up course, and i find it quite good and affordable! It's from "TheLittleBrush" It's like a house studio. She is very friendly and nice, and i actually learnt alot from her! Very satisfied !

With other friends, who went to her, very good reviews. It appears that she is very willing to teach, even as secret in the MUA. I will go back kodak 10 this Friday afternoon to review, and if she is good or bad.
