abit of review on Do Do Club BB cream
which looks like this, for anyone who has forgotten how it looks~
have applied it for the past 2 days, including a cheek to cheek comparism with skinfood BB cream #1.
**
NOTE: I have been in serious pre-menstraul out-break and bad sleep pattern for the past few days so the following reviews are generated under the influence of very bad skin.
and what I say over here MAY be overruled later after further exploration.
review:
texture: rather thick and "bouncy", it stays as very firm strands when i squeeze it out of the tube. however the blendability is better than Missha BB cream (silver tube), it seems to "melt away" instantly when my fingers start spreading it., easier to blend than missha bb cream, but inferior to skin food.
coverage: pretty good, it can cover up minor flaws quite well, but no it cannot help to cover up active pimples. But it is not as "thick" as missha BB cream.
staying-power: good, stays on quite well on face without going patchy or wearing off visibly. This is pretty constant in the 3 brands i have tested so far, i start to see that exellence staying-power is a common feature for all BB creams irregardless of brands
UV protection: sadly no, no SPF whatsoever, please wear sunscreen with it.
oil control: fair, slightly better than skin food but there's something about it that makes skin food superior to dodo club. i will talk about that below in what i dislike abt this product.
you may need to blot once or twice throughout the day.
shade option: only one shade available
what i like about this product?
good staying power, does not go dull or patchy, fair oil control power. does give your skin a smoothen-out look.
price is a BIG plus point, it is dirt cheap at $18. This price is hard to come by if you want to find a relatively good foundation. Frankly speaking, Do Do Club BB cream, even with some inferiority as compared to TSF & Missha, still performs better than most of the drugstore foundations and some counter brand foundations.
LFs I have tried personally:
RMK LF(turns dull over time, wears off, bad oil control),
L'Oreal sheer cashmere(becomes patchy, wears off, bad oil control)
Whitist LF,(becomes patchy)
RMK creamy liquid foundation (turns dull, wears off )
Make Up For Ever Face & Body LF(bad oil control, wears off),
EL Double Wear(this has fantastic finish & staying power, but shade too yellow for me & breaks me out horribly)
my past experience with foundations make my biggest concern the staying power and the wearing off when i grade a foundation.
Do Do Club has scored decently all-roundedly, but there are some things I do not really love about it as well.
what i don't really love about this product
shade is quite an issue here. As mentioned earlier BB cream doesn't seem to require as strict a colour match as you need to in a foundation. But after using Do Do Club, I believe that colour matching still does play a part in completing the look.
Do Do Club sinks into my skin colour very well, so well that it is exactly the same colour as that of my body and does not "brighten up" my complexion like what TSF & Missha does. So that sets me to suspect that what I saw is already the "brightened up version", in other words Do Do Club BB cream may suit someone with slightly darker skin tone than me.
I wear RMK 101 or in usual cases the fairest or 2nd fairest shade of most foundations.
Without the brighter skin shade look, as my face produces oil throughout the day, it doesn't acheive the "glowy" look Skin Food BB cream did on me (Missha BB does not do that too, it is too matte). But that again, my poor skin condition may be the one to blame.
(updated: after sufficient rest last night, Do Do club BB cream does settle in much better and looks brighter, alas skin food BB #1 is still brighter, so shade wise Do Do Club resembles Skin Food #2 but it offers better coverage)
Over all, Do Do Club is still a performing BB cream with very friendly price, but very fair ladies may want to try it out 1st to see if the colour matches you well.
blendability: missha<do do club<skin food
oil control:skin food = do do club<missha
coverage:skin food<do do club<missha
Anti-oxidation: skinfood=do do club=missha
*the missha BB cream referred to above is the silver tube, not the golden tube BB cream Vita, I didn't manage to try that one out.
**missha BB cream is more of a matte finish whereas skin food and do do club create a more radiant finish.
