Oh my god, I so have to rave about this brand. I've been sampling quite a few mineral makeup brands for my HG foundation and I thought Everyday Minerals intensive formula was it. But no, Meow's foundation is truly truly the best I've tried so far!![]()
I got to know about this brand through the mineral makeup thread at MakeupTalk. So I went to their site to take a look, and everything's so cute! They have really creative names for their products and I really like the cat theme as I'm a huge cat lover. So I ordered some samples at US$1.00 each. I got the 2nd and 3rd shades in most of the yellow or warm based shades. These are the stuff I've got:
2-Frisky and 3-Naughty Abyssinian
2-Frisky and 3-Naughty Chartreux
2-Frisky Korat
They were all in the Flawless Feline formula as I need the heaviest coverage I can get. Bad doesn't even begin to describe my skin, I've got lots of scars and hyperpigmentation from a really bad breakout early this year.![]()
Anyway, the ladies at Meow threw in a 2-Frisky Chartreux sample in Pampered Puss fomula and a 2-Frisky Chartreux concealer free. And to top it all off, even though I've ordered just US$5 worth of samples, they put everything in a nice leopard skin pouch! This is by far the best customer service I've ever received from any MMU company. Shipping for the 5 samples cost US$5.75. I got my shipping notice on 24th April and received my stuff on 3rd May. So shipping took 9 days.
So I've been playing with my samples. They are in baggies, and I think each sample should last 3-4 applications, or more. My best match was 3-Naughty Chartreux, it has just the right amount of yellow and peach without making me look jaundiced.
When I first tried it, I really can't believe how it looks! Normally with the heavier coverage foundations, they may look less natural, so I thought it's a compromise I'd have to make with my lousy complexion right now. But Meow glides on very smoothly. With other MMU foundations, I usually buff 5-6 times to cover up all the red scars, but I was blown away when Meow did it in just one coat!! I look flawless and very natural looking. It wasn't chalky or powdery at all, it's not overly dewy either, just the right amount of natural radiant glow.
I haven't tried the Pampered Puss formula yet, but I'm pretty sure I'll be ordering a full sized foundation in Flawless Feline. I heard it's a really big tub and value for money compared to other brands. I'm just going to play with the shades somemore before deciding if 3-Naughty Chartreux is it.
Has anyone else tried this brand? It's sooo good, I can't believe it. I'm going to try to resist purchasing right now, because I need to determine if it breaks me out or not.

I first heard abt this brand a few mths ago thru an MUA'er; she told me she loves their brushes! However, some of their brushes seemed similar to EBS (I was initially keen on getting the FOB, but Meow priced them higher, so I went back to EBS).
I'm really keen to try their concealers and powders too, but the number of shades are too daunting (not to mention the different formulas)!
Oh yeah, at first I thought that there were too many shades, and I'm never going to be able to decide on one. But after reading the descriptions, I find them very clear and I managed to narrow down to just 3 shades and 2 levels of darkness. The samples are very reasonably priced, so if you're fair, try 1 or 2 in each shade, if you're medium like me, 2 or 3 might be better.
Their brushes are good?! Wow, I never paid any attention to the brushes before, need to take a second look.
Ok, now you have my interest piqued again. LOL! I think you've got the latest fdn! It wasn't there when I last viewed the webbie!! Btw, how's the staying power of the fdn? Also, have you tried the concealer? Is it good? I'm swinging between Purfect and Pampered, and then also, I can't even decide what undertone to go for! Don't really understand beige and peach undertones as it's the first I've come across!![]()
I think you can give their brushes a miss. They looked pretty generic to me--at least I see EBS carrying almost similar ones.![]()
Really? The Flawless Feline is new? The staying power is excellent, I have extremely oily skin and if I fluff on Twisted Fayte's finishing powder, I don't have to blot. This is a far cry from when I use Pure Luxe, I have to blot 2 times a day with 2 pieces of J&J oil control film. Pure Luxe is good, but to get the coverage that I need, I have to fluff on 3-4 coats, which makes it look powdery. Buffing it on doesn't work as I'll look ghostly white, probably the titanium dioxide is not micronized. For Flawless Feline, buffing on 1-2 coats makes me look flawless, which is great as I spend less time putting on my face in the morning. At the end of the day, the coverage is still there, unlike Everyday Minerals, where the redness starts to show a little.
I haven't tried the concealer yet, the foundation covers well enough on its own. I love that it doesn't emphasise pores and looks very natural. Of course I will try the Pampered Puss version one day and also the concealer, will review it here when I do! Do you have sensitive skin? Purfect doesn't have zinc oxide, which is supposed to be soothing, so if you have easily irritated skin, Pampered might be better.
Hehe, I wasn't sure what undertones to go for too, I just know that I'm yellow and warm, but now I realise that I'm both yellow and peachy too!
It's great what you said about their brushes, I have way too many brushes at the moment to get more.
The name is so cutee!!
the e/s colours are gorgeous.... cat lover here too
i'm tempted to order a few samples![]()
karya, do review the e/s if you decide to get them!
Today I tried the Pampered Puss formula. Okay firstly, 2-frisky Chartreux seems to be a little too light for me. It also has lesser coverage than the Flawless Feline formula, but still works well if I use the concealer in the matching shade. The concealer is great man, it totally covers any blemishes on my face!
Somehow 3-naughty Abyssinian also seems to work for me. It is more yellowish, while Chartreux is slightly too peachy. I find that a mix between 3-naughty Chartreux and 3-naughty Abyssinian seems to work well. But I'm too lazy to mix, so to choose 1, I prefer 3-naughty Chartreux.
I heard that there's going to be a new breed called lynx, which is something like Chartreux but more yellow and slightly less peach. That my be it for me! But I don't know if I can wait till that is launched. I'm so tempted to order a full sized foundation right now, but I think I should finish the samples first.
I've been surfing Meow's site for quite some time... and being the MMU addict, I'm definitely tempted to try them out. I've emailed their customer service to find out on color recommendations and they got back to me very fast with their color recs. If anyone's is ordering from Meow and wants me to ride on, please do let me know as I don't have Paypal/CC... Heheh.
leitmotiv, is it possible for you to post a picture of the colors that you got?

Hi pinklipgloss, I may be getting some full sized foundations in a week or two after I've finished using up the samples and it doesn't break me out. In their FAQ, they said you don't need to have a Paypal account to purchase, it's just that their checkout is set up by Paypal, so you should be able to order.
Alright, I'll take photos of my stuff tomorrow morning. The foundations actually look a lot lighter than they do from their website.
leitmotiv: After reading your reivews, I'm so tempted to order.![]()
