hi lyuira
im sorry i missed your question.
and yes, im pretty much sure that the infection was caused by the GnG lenses. although i had a refererral to NEC, i didn't make an appointment as my schedule then was rather hectic and non-consistent.
however, what i did was to stop using the GnG lenses altogether, and bought a brand new pair of regular soft lenses (brand was unisoft i think, from Straits optical) and i wore that whenever i had important events to attend.
if not, i'd be stuck with wearing spectacles. it took me close to a month (or two) to totally clear my eye infection.
My optician warned me against all colored lens. He told me that you will see colored lines and with prolonged use, it may (or is it will) worsen the short-sightedness. I guess for cosmetic reasons that you wear to a function for couple of hours is ok. To use it as regular lens, clear is always better.
paroxysm
yep i agree. my optician also told me the same thing and actually coloured lenses (no matter how established the brand is) will cause myopia to worsen in the long term.
HMmm, actually I feel very comfy wearing GnG lenses, usually wearing freshkon ones, I have to put eyedrop in my eyes more often, but with GnG ones, it seems ok..
By the way, how do you guys maintain the GnG lenses? Do you wash with saline & put the protein tablet?
yoshimi
i wash with saline and just soak it in the lens solution.. in my years of wearing contacts, i've never used to protein tablet at all..
how does one go about using it? and why is it necessary?
dottiesunfish, prettyeagle> Well I used to wear those permanent lenses and using protein tablet is necessary to keep the lenses clear from protein.. Usually every 2 weeks, put 1 tablet into each side overnight will do..
cordelia> I thought store with the solution and every morning before wearing wash 1 more time with saline water?![]()
Now I'm in a dilemma, cause I'm on my last pair of contact lens...
Wondering whether I should continue buying half-year supply at $60 or should I switch to the GEO big eye contacts for $40?
Might get to save $20, but then again, depending on my eyes reaction, maybe have to spend extra!
So should I play it safe and stick to my old, normal contacts or try out GEO's big eye ones?![]()
Geo? Is that a new brand? Havent seen it before yet..
I don't think it's a new brand, and actually it's probably the second popular compared to G&G...
I want to get it, but in a dilemma although some people say it's the most comfortable, even better than G&G. Cause last time I ordered a pair of big-eye contacts, forgot the brand, but my eyes really hurt after around only two months of wearing them.

i'd rather you pay more for a reputable local brand. because my sis got her GnG lenses and around 2-3 months later she suffered the same symptoms as i did when i wore my GnG lenses. they lasted about 2 months before problems started. and they dry out easily.. definitely not for a whole year of usage.
Hmm, okay. (: I think I've basically reached a conclusion. Thanks!
