Bad job agencies

After looking through those posts regarding the infamous RE , I could'nt agree much ! Its very annoying that most of the major and well-known company tend to use their services as they are unclue about the methods used by them to get candidates for the job. My bro complained to me about one of the agent from taka. He pointed out that she was damn pushy and even shouted on the phone when my bro mentioned that he would like to consider about the job offeers that were offered to him by her. THATS bloody rude as a consultant. I guess shes rushing to gain the commission or to hit the unethical sales target.. -.- anyway, guys if you really want to find a job i would recommend you to visit/contact the consultnts from UOB plaza. Most of them are better than the taka branch especially fresh and young consultant who just joined RE , they will go the extra mile to match yourrequirement and the job itself. hi, coz im a newly pr and try to get a job.. wanna ask when u guys go recruitment agency wear formal or casual... they interview u and shortlist u then only the hire company interview u right? wanna know hmm how casual and formal is.. sorry to ask such question... i really no idea on it

hello. im a student and ive recently signed a contract with an agency for a temp job. but due to quite serious personal reasons i am unable to work. the contract says that i have to pay a compensation fee of 2 weeks of my pay which in my case comes up to about 500-600. i know it is my fault that i am unable to carry out the job but i was wondering if there are any way for which i could not pay the compensation fee as i am still a student and it will be difficult for me to come up with the sum of money. will they send me a lawyer letter for it if i refuse to pay? thanks in advance for any input!

Just to add one more rant about RE I*foco** dept.

After two bad experiences with them, I have decided to boycott them....I notice they are very proficient in introducing certain kind of jobs to you by repackaging these jobs to make the job look very, very attractive....that is why a lot of cos look for them due to this. Usually, these are the jobs that many stay away frm...or has high turnover..

RE sucks big time!! I went down to TAKA for interview sometime back and the assistant manager who's basically fully in charge of the healthcare industry SALLY was so rude!!! Imagine. She's assistant manager and she's so rude. Can't imagine how the rest of the staffs behave. I just hope some of the bosses from those big companies will come to cozycot and read all these negative reviews about RE. Best agency my ass. Another time this indian girl from RE rang me up at 4ish in the afternoon and asked me if its possible for me to head down for an interview that very day!!! Before 6pm. Is she frigging out of her mind????!!!! I rejected of cause and told her no!!!

I would recommend companies like Robert Walters and Ranstad. Their clients are big MNCS and hence pay relatively well. And best thing is the agents there are professional and nicer then RE!!

if no one takes jobs from RE then they will have no business soon ***. no need the boss to come and see. from what I've read somewhere, even the director of RE is so rude!

hi,
just need some advice.
i had a job offer from an agency around mid nov 2011, turned down to offer as i was just back from an overseas project.

mid dec 2011, they called me up again and told me the employer is willing to wait for me till feb 2012.
i was agreeable to the terms ( via email) and asked them to email me the letter of offer.

in between the times from 3rd week of dec 2011 till now ( mid Jan 2012), i had been chasing them for the issue and the letter of offer. Reason the agent gave me was the client office was closed till last week due to festive season.

Tried to call them again on Friday last week, the person in charge of my case was on leave and mc till this week, her back up tried to call the client and when she returned call to me, the replies were dubious, e.g. the md of the client not in SG at the moment / they are not sure of the whole issue/ go find other job if you have other offer.

i was like really pissed with the back up's answer, i felt i was given a wild goose chase for the last 3 weeks. Is there anything i could do for my case?

the person in charge is so called back today but i do not not if i should call up this agency for the answer again.

Hey I think you should call them up and get a full understanding of the whole issue. Ask them if they really want to employ you and stop wasting your time. If they are unable to give you a satisfactory answer, go CASE and complain! I think they really deserve some punishment. >

Anyway, personally, I have two bad experiences before..
First time is RE themselves want to recruit me as their recruitment consultant (lucky i didn't go down for the second round..) The basic pay is low and I have to fulfil a certain quota each month.. commission very low also. They really sweet-talked me and say until they are very keen ***.
Second time is they help NUH look for people de. I applied for pharmacy assistant ***. Then the guy ask me go down and interview. I was so happy, thought I can learn something in the pharmacy. Then to my horror, the guy started pushing other customer service/admin jobs to me. When I asked about the pharmacy assistant thing, he simply put it off and said that many people also want the position, but he will send the resumes to the various hospitals. Then he started spamming me with different vacant positions. He hard-sell until i cannot take it so i just say anything, i will try for it..
According to him, it is some admin/customer service position..and so i went down to NUH for second round. In the end I realise the whole job is to collect payments from patients de ***. And it is so demanding! So i told the guy I don't want le then he keep asking why and even wanted to help me ask again. I promptly said no and never approached them again..

I cant remember much bout my bad experience with them.. but however, I remember clearly the bad experience my friend had with them!

My friend went down to the Taka branch for interview as recruiter. My friend was already in the mid twenties at that time and she has just graduated from NYP diploma. Before she went NYP, she was schooling at ITE. However, she didnt stated on her resume that because she thought by stating down the highest qualification is enough.

That super rude interviewer of RE asked my friend, ' Where were you before you entered NYP?' And so my friend replied her that she went ITE. Next, she asked her, 'Do you smoke?' My friend replied, 'Yes'.

GUESS WHAT THAT CRAZY SUPER RUDE INTERVIEWER SAID!?!!!!

SO I PRESUMED U R AN AH LIAN LA. YOU DIDNT STUDY AND SMOKE IN YOUR SEC SCH AND END UP IN ITE.

My friend got so pissed off that she replied that crazy in a stern voice,'Well, it doesnt mean that you smoke you are an ah lian. And it also doesnt mean that you studied in ITE, you are an ah lian.'

Well, to me, this bad experience is enough for me to condemn that agency to the max. They always advertise on job portals that their clients are looking for business development etc. But in fact, they just wanna lure you down and share with you more bout the recruiter position. What kind of intergrity is this? If I wanna be a recruiter, I will jolly well look for one. Do you have to resort to this? This will only show how 'professional' you are.

Apart from that, from my own bad experience, my interviewer asked me am I into sports? and do I smoke? I replied her that I'm not THAT into sport and yes I do smoke but aint a heavy smoker. That interviewer shamelessly told me that,'oh.. all our consultants at RE have a healthy lifestyle. They dont smoke dont drink and very into sports.'

I saw one of the consultant who happens to be one of my friend's ex gf (i dont know her personally). I used to see this girl in some club for many occasions! N furthermore, she is always drunk and behaves like .....
