Hi, I heard that the pay isnt good and job prospects are even poorer (from my friend working as a medical technologist: if the one above you doesnt get promoted, you wont get promoted). Quite a number of people I know left their jobs at a*star cos the pay isnt as good as being a lecturer in a polytechnic and the bonus is miserable (can be as low as 2 digits).
Did you think of going into the science industry or is currently looking for a job in this industry?
oh...actually a Life science company called me up for Project Manager position but I'm just a Engineer from different industry. Anyway luckily I didn't take up cuz now in oil gas company.
Life and Science is a hard industry it needs a lot of knowledge and position and great skills to get a good pay. You have to be in the high position to earn a lot. I cannot see myself in this industry. I even have low grades in Science subjects. I am more of the I.T industry and sales plus advertising. I think this is much easier to study with and work out with.
Career and industry change is a hard process so you need ample time to think about your options, to carefully plan your moves and to learn to be better equipped for the change that will happen.
